The Vast Realm of Eternity

Consider the life that is to be,
In the vast realm of eternity.
Do you think, of what the future holds?
Will you e’er walk, on that street of gold?

The river - - - clear and pure, did you know?
The water of life, from God’s Throne flows.
In the midst of the street, on each side,
Is the tree of life, that God provides.

No more curse, shall e’er again be found,
Just blessings from the Lord, will abound.
We shall at last see, His precious Face,
And first hand feel, His amazing grace.

There shall never be, any more night,
Just the brilliance, of our Saviour’s Light.
No sun or moon, will this City need,
Glory from God and the Lamb, shall proceed.

No more death, sorrow, crying or pain,
From all these things, we shall abstain.
Nothing that defiles, shall enter in,
Gone will be, all wickedness and sin.

Consider now, the other life to be,
In the vast realm of eternity.
Most will go in, thru’ Hell’s one lone gate,
The Lake of Fire, is the sinner’s fate.

No exit doors, just smoke and darkness,
Here, God’s Glory is gone; He won’t bless.
God’s wondrous Presence, you won’t e’er see,
You’ll be bann’d for e’er, from His mercy.

Agonizing screams, will never cease,
Christ is not there, so you’ll have no peace.
All the wonder of Heav’n, you’ll never see,
Just non-stop suff’ring, eternally.

Only TWO roads, to eternity,
One leads to bliss, the other - - - agony.
Your future in your own hands, you hold,
Eternal suff’ring - - - OR the street of gold.

Why would I pick a poem such as this for a “New Year’s” poem? Why would I bring such a doom’s day poem to begin a New Year? This is the time of year that people make New Year’s resolutions. I would say that 90% of these good intentions are never fulfilled. So, what am I getting at? WHY are resolutions made? Aren’t they to benefit us? It simply amazes me that the vast majority of people in the world NEVER consider eternity. They NEVER think about what happens AFTER death!

The Bible clearly tells us our spirits and souls are eternal! Eccles. 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. (KJV)
Believers go immediately into God’s Presence. 2 Cor. 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. (KJV)
Unbelievers are sent to Hades (present day Hell), to await judgment (Luke 16:22-23; Rev.20:11-15).

NO unbeliever will ever enter Heaven (Rev.21:8,27; 22:15). God will NOT make a mistake. If your name is not in the Book of Life, you shall be sent to the Lake of Fire, which is Hell (Rev.20:15). 2 Thes. 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (KJV)

I believe God! I believe His Holy Word, every bit of it. It is my prayer that your New Year’s resolution be that if you do not know Christ as your Saviour and Lord, that you open your heart’s door to Him now (Rev.3:20). And if you do know Him, but have back slidden, please turn back to Him NOW!

There are three great truths: the fatherhood of God, the lordship of Christ, and the true blessing of the Christian believer. I pray that you enter the new year with these great truths in mind. Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. (KJV) . . . Do NOT call God a "liar"!

AWESOME AND AMAZING

Awesome and amazing, is what You are,
Surpassing all others, from afar.
You chase away all my doubts and fears,
‘Tis glorious to have Your Presence near.

Wondrously good, You are to me,
Tho’ I’m a sinner and so unworthy.
You reach out to me, with comforting arms,
You relieve all my heart’s grief and alarm.

Great mercy and compassion, flows from You,
You abundantly pardon, sins I do.
Such lavish love, You do send my way,
Deep, wide, endless love; You show me always.

My precious Saviour, who on the cross died,
Willingly for me, He was crucified.
No greater love can anyone show,
Such tremendous love, on me He bestows.

My Lord, You are awesome and amazing,
Daily You bestow abundant blessings.
Just You are capable of love so true,
Both here on Earth, and in Heaven too.

In today’s immoral and corrupt world, the majority of people have the wrong idea of love, and sad to say, when considering “love” most people NEVER think of Christ Jesus, our precious, awesome and amazing Saviour and Lord! They think of worldly things and people, but not Jesus!
When people today think of love, it is sex they think of, not the kind of love of which the Bible speaks. Love is caring, concern and compassion. It is giving of self to benefit others. It is NOT sex in any way, shape of fashion, and love absolutely is NOT the immoral sex of gays and lesbians. Homosexuality is forbidden in God’s Word (Gen.13:13; ch.18 &19; Lev.18:22; Isa.3:9; Rom.1:24-28; 1 Tim.1:10; Rev.21:8; 22:15) and in my opinion is WRONG, it is SIN . . . because the Bible says so, and I believe and teach the Bible.
I think we all should rethink what we consider love, contrast what we think of love, with the kind of love God has for us. Consider the “Love chapter” below.

1 Cor. 13:1-13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. [2] And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. GOD’S CREATION

Where were we, when God created the world?
Where were we, when the Earth was unfurled?
Of its measurements, which of us know?
Or how deep is its foundation, below?

Where were we, when He made the stars above?
Where were we, when the angels sang out in love?
Where were we, when He shut the doors of the sea?
Where were we, when He made its boundaries?

Can we command, the morning to arrive?
Will our wisdom or power, help us survive?
Can we enter into, the ocean’s springs?
Or walk its depth, to know where it begins?

Have the gates of death, been open’d to you?
Does the shadow of death, give you a clue?
Can you perceive the Earth, O so v’ry wide?
Ev’n tho’ on its surface, you do reside.

Just where does the light dwell, or the darkness?
Where is the place, can you dare confess?
Have you enter’d into the snow’s treasure?
Or the hail, that He sends at His pleasure?

Just how does God part, the dark and the light?
Why does He send the wind, in day or night?
How does He decide, the route of thunder?
Is it His wisdom? or is it blunder?

Does rain have a father? who begets the dew?

God reserves storehouses of the snow and hail for times of trouble. God used hail to help Joshua and the Israelites win a battle (Joshua 10:11). Just as armies keep weapons in the armory, God has all the forces of nature in His control. Sometimes He uses them to confound those opposed to Him or His people. Neither Job or we, could even begin to know all of God’s resources.

God has ALL the forces of nature at His command, and He can unleash or restrain any or all of them when and/or if He so desires! NO one can completely understand rain or snow, and NO one can command them! Only God who created them has that power. I think God’s point is, that if Job or we can not explain such common events in nature, how could anyone possibly explain or question God? Since nature is far beyond our meager comprehension, God’s moral purposes may not be what we imagine either.

The Lord questions Job and us, to convince him/us of his/our ignorance, and shame him/us for his/our stupidity in any attempt to direct or command God. Any attempt to try shall soon reveal to us that what little we know is NOTHING in comparison with what we do NOT know! By the tender and gracious mercy of our God, He gives light to those that sit in darkness, whose hearts are turned to Him (2 Cor.4:6). God’s wise way in the governing of the world is said to be in the sea (Ps.77:19); meaning that it is hidden from us. It is arrogant of us, who cannot see the breadth of the Earth, to dive into the depth of God’s mysterious counsels. It is utter foolishness to strive against God! How much better it is to seek peace with Him, and to stay ever so close in His never ending love!

Today’s media are Biblically ignorant, along with most in the world today. Every time there is an earthquake, tornado, hurricane, etc., it is always “Mother Nature.” How dumb that people cannot SEE that it is God’s Hand at work because of the sin in the world. Get right with God! Are you a member of God’s family? If not, you can be admitted today! Just believe God! God loves you and wants you as His child! (Jn.1:12-13; 3:3-8; 3:15-18,36; 5:24; 8:24; 1 Jn.5:10-12; Rev.20:15).

THE STONE ON THE TOMB

Why was the stone, on the tomb roll’d away?
You must admit, ‘twas an awesome display!
Was the stone moved, so Christ could get out?
‘Tis a subject, most don’t think about!

The stone was roll’d away from the sepulcher,
This had to be, an amazing picture!
Mary Magdalene, was the first to see,
Jesus had risen! the tomb was empty!

The stone was moved, so others could get in,
To see the great vict’ry, Jesus did win!
He was raised from the dead; He was raised!
Praise be to Almighty God! Praise, praise praise!

The stone was roll’d away, so they could tell,
Christ was alive! all their fears they could quell.
Two angels in white sat, where Christ had lain,
“He is not here, He is risen” they did explain!

The disciples were gath’red, Sunday evening,
In their midst stood, their Master and King!
The doors were shut, but that didn’t stop the Lord,
The hearts of these men, were indeed stirred.

Calmly He spoke to them: “Peace be unto you,”
He showed them His Hands, so they’d know He was true.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,”
We must tell the world, Christ is our salvation!

???Days and 3 Nights???

The Bible does NOT say or imply that Jesus was crucified and died on Good Friday! It is said that Jesus was crucified on "the day before the Sabbath" (Mark 15:42; Luke 23:54; John 19:14, 31, 42). Because the Jewish WEEKLY Sabbath came on Saturday, many think Jesus was crucified on Good Friday. This is NOT true. The Bible is clear that the Jews had OTHER Sabbaths beside the weekly Sabbath which fell on Saturday.

The first day of the Passover week, no matter on what day of the week it came, was always an ANNUAL Sabbath. Other ANNUAL Sabbaths: Lev.23:6-7,8; Num.28:26. The day of Pentecost was an ANNUAL Sabbath. This is the reason we read about Sabbaths (plural) in the Old Testament (Lev.26:2, 34, 35, 43).

The Bible makes it plain, when Jesus was crucified and buried. Mark 15:42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, (KJV) . . . It was the preparation day (day before the Passover Sabbath) on which the Passover Supper was made ready. It was the preparation for the Holy Day, the 14th of Nisan (John 13:1, 29; 18:28). It was the preparation to keep the Passover Sabbath . . . the ANNUAL Sabbath which always came on the 15th day of the first ecclesiastical month. John 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. (KJV) . . . Its greatness was due to the fact that it was the ANNUAL Sabbath of the Passover Festival.

There were TWO Sabbaths the Week Jesus was crucified.
Matthew makes it plain that two Sabbaths had passed since Jesus was crucified. Mat.28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. (KJV) . . . This allows for the ANNUAL Sabbath on Thursday and the WEEKLY Sabbath on Saturday. When Jesus was buried near sundown on the day of the Passover, Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary watched the burial (Mat. 27:58-61).

Immediately after the burial (Wednesday evening), Luke says: Luke 23:54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. (KJV) This Sabbath was the ANNUAL Sabbath on Thursday. The day after the ANNUAL Sabbath (Friday) the women bought spices (Mark 16:1). When the ANNUAL Sabbath was over, the women bought spices. After preparing the spices on Friday (Luke 23:56) the women rested on the WEEKLY Sabbath (Saturday). If you go by the traditional interpretation buried on “Good Friday” . . . it makes Mark and Luke contradict each other. Mark 16:1 states that the Sabbath was past when the spices were purchased. In Luke 23:56 we are told that the women prepared the spices and ointments, and rested the Sabbath day. If Jesus lay in the grave ONLY on one Sabbath, Mark and Luke contradict each other. But . . . IF He was in the grave TWO Sabbaths (Thursday and Saturday) . . . with a work day (Friday) between them, then Mark and Luke are in perfect harmony!

WHEN does the Bible say that Jesus rose from the dead? Mat.28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. (KJV) . . . The end of the WEEKLY Sabbath (Saturday) . . . The Sabbath always ended at sunset. The Sabbath was from one evening to the next evening! They went to the tomb BEFORE sunset on Saturday. Jesus had risen from the dead BEFORE their arrival (Mat.28:1-8). SO . . . According to the Bible, Christ Jesus arose before sunset on Saturday.

Mark 16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. (KJV)

SO . . . IF Jesus were buried at sunset on Wednesday and arose at sunset on Saturday, He DID fulfill the sign of Jonah. He would have been in the grave Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night . . . a full "three days and three nights." This is a literal fulfillment of the words of Christ! (Mat.12:40).

MONEY

Money is not, the measure of wealth,
Consider instead, your spiritual health.
If we seek God, and His righteousness,
We will have abundant, blessedness.

The devil tells us, money comes first,
But, lust for riches in God’s eyes, is cursed.
Your treasures on Earth, thieves can steal,
But treasures in Heav’n, God will conceal.

Love is something, money cannot buy,
But it’s amazing, how many do try.
Love comes only, from way deep within,
No sum of money, can true love win.

Neither can money buy, happiness,
Lusting for riches, brings just sadness.
Happiness comes from, being content,
That comes only, when Christ is present.

Eternal wealth is what we should seek,
We must cast pride away, we must be meek.
Those who covet, will not get to Heav’n,
The depths of Hell, instead shall be giv’n.

Lust for riches, will choke out God’s Word,
It will not from God, bring you a reward.
Life does not consist, of what you possess,
Being right with God, is true success.

With such things as you have, be content,
His grace shall always, be sufficient.
Being God’s friend, gives life eternally,
Far, far better, than all the world’s money!

IS MONEY YOUR GOD?

Being worldly-minded (lusting after things of this world) is very common, but it is a fatal symptom of hypocrisy. It really is faith in the wrong thing, a bad thing! This sin allows Satan to grab a sure and fast hold on your soul.

Many people, who profess to be religious, are guilty of this sin. Yes, it is a sin! Millions lust after riches and the many pleasures and comforts those riches can provide. Something deep inside people’s souls, intensely yearns for better things, more things. There seems to be no end to the lust. People take great pleasure gaining and stockpiling riches, no matter who gets hurt in the process, or what they have to do to get it.

Money is a god to millions of people. Money rules people. The power of money is terrifying! To gain riches, many would do all but die. For money, people ridicule and scorn character. Unless money is carefully and wisely handled, a person becomes a slave to it. It becomes their god! They worship it and what it can do.

Do you judge people by how rich or famous they are? If you do, it is wrong. It is a sin. Wealth may indicate intelligence, wise decisions, and hard work, but it MAY mean that a person was simply born into a wealthy family. And too, it could even be the sign of cruelty, dishonesty, immorality, oppression, greed and just plain selfishness.

By honoring someone just because he or she dresses well (Jam.2:2-4), we are making a person’s appearance more important than their character. Why do people do this? # (1) poverty makes us uncomfortable; we don’t want to admit it’s our responsibility help those who have less than we do; # (2) we are jealous and want to be rich too, and possibly we hope to use the rich person as a means to that end. These motives are selfish. We should view the rich or the poor person as a human being in need of fellowship. IF we say that Christ is our Lord, then we must live as He demands, by showing NO favoritism and loving ALL people regardless of whether they are rich or poor, red, yellow, black or white.

1 Tim. 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (KJV) . . . Greed leads to all kinds of evil and sins: marriage problems, robbery, blowups in partnerships. If anyone truly wants to master greed, you must control it at its root. Get rid of the desire to be rich, or money will make you its absolute slave.

Greed Causes Family Trouble

Proverbs 15:27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live. (KJV) . . . Dishonest money brings grief to the whole family, it is wise indeed to hate bribes. The covetous man lets none of his family have rest or enjoyment. Greediness of gaining more and more and more, often tempts a person into projects that bring complete ruin.

Money Brings Disappointment

Eccles. 5:10-11 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity. [11] When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes? (KJV) . . . People always want more than they have. Solomon learned that those who love money and lust after it in an obsessive way, never find the happiness it promises. The love of money leads to all sorts of sin. BEWARE!!!

Blind and Deaf Sinners

Adultery is a sin, you must beware,
Friend, it’s wrong, to think it’s just an affair.
God sees the lust in your eyes, and your heart,
Immorality is sin, you must depart.

Murder is sin; “But I’ve killed no one” you say,
But God looks at things, a whole diff’rent way.
If you hate your brother, Heav’n you’ll not see,
Far, far from you, is life eternally.

God’s Word clearly tells us, we must not lie,
Or in Hell, we’ll eternally die.
When we tell ‘white lies’, it is strictly wrong,
We must not go along, with Satan’s throng.

Thou shalt not steal, God so clearly tells,
Robbery is a sin, that leads to Hell.
Men start work late, quit early ev’ry day,
And steal from their boss, in so many ways.

Coveting, what to another belongs,
Is for all God’s children, dreadfully wrong.
God’s Word absolutely, forbids man’s greed,
If we are wise, to our Master we’ll heed.

When we disobey, we sin against God,
It’s a path of rebellion, that we trod.
There’s not any other, to whom you can turn,
When you anger the Lord, make His wrath burn.

O’ blind and deaf sinner, you must awake,
Or you will wind up, in Hell’s fiery lake.
Commit your life, to Christ Jesus today,
For you can’t reach Heav’n’s gate, no other way!

Matthew 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: [28] But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. (KJV) . . . Jesus takes the Old Testament Laws quite a bit further. According to Jesus, there are a multitudes guilty!

Matthew 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, (KJV)

Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. (KJV) . . . The Golden Rule!

Romans 13:8-10 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. [9] For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [10] Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. (KJV) . . . Again, the Golden Rule! IF we all would follow this one rule, the world would be a much better place in which to live.

Mark 7:20-23 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. [21] For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, [22] Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: [23] All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. 1 Cor. 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Rev. 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. (KJV) . . . We know NOT when Jesus might come! Be careful how you live!

Rev. 9:21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. (KJV) . . . ALL these people will be cast into the Lake of Fire (Rev.20:15).

Rev. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (KJV) . . . NONE of these shall ever enter Heaven.

Rev. 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. (KJV) . . . Is your name in this book? It is not too late to have it entered my friend! Do it today!

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV) . . . Do NOT believe cults that say there are ‘other’ ways to Heaven! They lie! God made just ONE Way to receive eternal life in Heaven and that is His only begotten Son! (Jn.3:16).

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV) . . . NO other name, NO church can save you! Just Jesus! Believe it my friend!

AM I WORTHY??

Am I not as good, as the one next to me?
Am I not worthy, of life eternally?
Does not the good, far outweigh the bad I do?
Would God send me to Hell? could this be true?

People have many questions, of ev’ry kind,
Questions that provoke, the thoughts of their mind.
God is love they say, He’s not a God of wrath,
So they keep right on, that big, broad, worldly path.

Most folks don’t consider, what God has to say,
They think they know best, as they hurry on their way.
By grace are ye saved thru’ faith, ‘tis a gift of God,
Not by works we do, for that would make us proud.

We must ne’er judge ourselves, with another,
For God alone judges us, with Christ our Brother!
There is NO salvation, in any other name,
Without belief in Christ, your sin is dreadful shame.

The wages of our sin, is eternal Hell,
Without Christ, that horrid place, is where you shall dwell.
Just belief in Christ, gives eternal life in Heav’n,
The Gift of eternal life, just by God is giv’n.

NO one is worthy, of God’s eternal Home,
We must follow Christ, as in this life we roam.
Righteousness we have, comes from Christ, Him alone,
His Sacrifice on the cross, did atone.

God’s One and Only Plan!

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (KJV) . . . IF we believe God, we have eternal life in Heaven. IF we refuse to believe God, God’s wrath casts you into Hell.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (KJV) . . . IF we believe God and accept Christ as Saviour and Lord, we HAVE eternal life NOW! It is ours! Hath = has! We HAVE it now!

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (KJV) . . . IF you do NOT believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, Hell is your eternal destiny.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (KJV) . . . Our righteousnesses are as filthy rags in God’s eyes (Isa.64:6). . . . SO, what do we do?

1 Cor. 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (KJV) . . . When a person believes God (1 John 5:10-13) and accepts Christ Jesus in their heart (Rev.3:20), God trades their filthy, vile unrighteousness for the perfect righteousness of Jesus!

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: (KJV) . . . Justified = made right with God; just as if we’d never sinned! Only Christ Jesus can justify us. We are justified by our faith In Jesus!

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV) . . . We all are worthy of Hell, until we accept the GIFT of eternal life that comes only through Jesus Christ, our precious Saviour and Lord.

Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. (KJV) . . . Salvation, eternal life in Heaven, is a GIFT of God! We can do NO works of any kind to acquire it on our own. Just faith.

Galatians 3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. (KJV) . . . God does not change. We must believe God, as Abraham did.

Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. (KJV) . . . Not even our most beautiful thoughts of Heaven can compare with its beauty. And on the other hand, not even our worst thoughts of Hell can compare to its agony. BEWARE!!!

AS YOU SURVEY YOUR LIFE

As you survey your life, what do you see?
Is it constant stress, or serenity?
Consider, does worry always plague you?
Think . . . are your dishonest, or are you true?

Do you gossip and backbite, or say good things?
To others, are you a curse, or blessing?
Does love in your heart, to others o’er flow?
Do those around you, the true you know?

Do you cheat others, with thoughts just of greed?
And feelings of others, you never do heed.
Coveting, will bring God’s wrath, down on you,
Love of money, is simply the wrong view.

Do you deceive others with trickery?
Do monstrous lies, flow from your lips so free?
The deep hurt you inflict, could last for years,
Causing your victim stress, to the point of tears.

As you survey your life, what do you see?
Are you on your way, to life eternally?
Are you walking, on the Lord’s path of light?
Are you living, what God considers right?

If we want God’s heav’nly Home, as our own,
Love to God, and our neighbors, must be shown.
We must have faith, we must trust and obey,
We would surely be wise, to live God’s way!

Have you ever really ‘surveyed your life’? If so, did you decide to do anything to change something you know is wrong? We all do things that are not right in God’s eyes. When we look over our day, we should see clearly what should be done to live according to God’s Word.

  • Was it doubt, worry, did you gossip about someone?
  • Did you steal anything from anyone?
  • Coming to work late, leaving early and taking long lunch hours is stealing from your boss.
  • Did you cheat someone?
  • Did you do or say something without ever considering the feelings of another?
  • Did you covet anything someone else has?
  • Did you deceive someone? That trickery is of the devil!
  • Did you lie to someone? Lies can put you in Hell!

Rev. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (KJV) . . . If you lie, STOP it!

Another very sobering thought: 1 John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. (KJV) . . . Hate is like a cancer, eating away at you. Hate could end up in murder! As you survey your life, try to live as God wants you to live. Repent of wrongs and ask God’s help to keep you on the right path.

Words of Wisdom
The prayer line to Heaven is always open, there is never a busy signal.
You can’t have ‘peace’ half-way. It’s all or nothing.

My Fortress And My Shield

Our God is a Fortress, so mighty,
Always near by, to deliver me.
He is my strength, in Whom I shall trust,
His guiding me, is truly a must.

Thou Lord, art my Fortress and my Rock,
I feel Your Presence, as Satan stalks.
You are my Refuge, with Arms open wide,
You deliver me, when I abide.

You are my Fortress, Goodness and Shield,
To Your wisdom and pow’r, I gladly yield.
In my affliction, You are my Fortress,
Just knowing You’re near, You do bless.

Thou, O Lord God, art for me a Shield,
Protecting me from fiery darts, Satan wields.
Such great comfort, deep within I feel,
Peace, joy and contentment, You reveal.

You give me the Shield of Thy salvation,
You remov’d from me, my degradation.
Should I slip, Your right hand catches me,
Therefore my glad heart rejoices, greatly.

You are my Shield and help, my soul shall wait,
And one day You shall open, Heav’n’s gate.

From The Pit To The Palace

Joseph’s brothers, looked on him with hate,
They would be, his destiny to fate.
His many colored coat, from far away,
They saw coming closer, that v’ry day.

Joseph’s brothers, dreamed up evil things,
Far from their wicked hearts, were blessings.
Into a deep pit, him they did throw,
Joseph looked up with tears, from below.

Slave traders came thru’ and bought the boy,
Sold him into, Potiphar’s employ.
Joseph was good, and honest and pure,
Serving willingly, he did endure.

It was soon, great temptation set in,
Potiphar’s wife, wanted him to sin.
When he refused, revenge she did seek,
Imprisoned, this godly man, so meek.

Dreams of the butler, and the baker,
Were interpreted thru’ Joseph, by His Maker.
Then the great Pharaoh had a dream too,
Joseph was called, interpreted it true.

Seven years of plenty, seven years of need,
Joseph’s wisdom, many people would feed.
Storing grain in the plentiful years,
In the famine, it would ward off fears.

From Pharaoh’s palace, Joseph did rule,
Second in command, nobody’s fool.
From the pit, into which Joseph was cast,
To a huge palace, with pow’r so vast.

Genesis chapters 37-50

The story of Joseph is known even by those who know little of the Bible. I think that every person can identify with some portion of Joseph’s story.
Gen. 37:23-28 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him; [24] And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it. [25] And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt. [26] And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood? [27] Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content. [28] Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt. Gen.41:42-44 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; [43] And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. [44] And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt. (KJV) . . . In the palace!

Joseph’s Early Life. (1) The son of Jacob and Rachel, (Genesis 30:22-24). (2) The favorite child of his father, (Genesis 37:3). (3) Because his father favored him, he was hated by his brethren, (Genesis 37:3-11). (4) Dreams of brothers and father bowing down to him, (Genesis 37:5-10). (5) Sold into Egypt, (Genesis 37:12-28).

Joseph’s Life in a Foreign Land, (Genesis 39:1-50:26).

Joseph’s Seven Steps to Honor and glory. (1) Godly influence, (Genesis 39:2-3). (2) Honest in business, (Genesis 39:5-6). (3) Resisting temptation, (Genesis 39:7-9). (4) Divine favor, (Genesis 39:21). (5) Providential circumstances, (Genesis 40:5-8). (6) Honoring God, (Genesis 41:16). (7) Divine revelations, (Genesis 41:25-26).

Joseph’s Christlike Spirit. (1) In forgiving his brother’s sin, (Genesis 45:15). (2) In his obedient devotion, (Genesis 46:29). (3) In returning good for evil, (Genesis 50:19-21).

What can we learn from Joseph’s life? (1) Obey God. (2) Always be honest in all things. (3) Resist temptations that come our way (Jam.4:7). (4) If we live right, God will never leave us. (5) Always give God the glory in all things. (7) Let us always be willing to obey and follow God’s guidance. (8) We must forgive those who harm us. (9) We must obey God. (10) Returning good for evil is hard! Let’s try harder, asking for help from God.

Genesis 39:3 And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand. (KJV) . . . Prosper does not always mean wealth. People around us can see that God is with us in what we do. They can see that we are making every effort to live a life that is pleasing to God. That is what Joseph did, so should we. Joseph did not lose the moral graces that distinguished his character, and neither should we.

Do you offer, the sacrifice of praise?
The fruit of your lips, to Him do you raise?

Have you thanked Him, for love He sheds on you?
Vast divine love, from our God, great and true!
He sent His Son to save us, this God of Love,
Send your praise to Him, in Heav’n high above.

How many times, has He forgiv’n you?
Have you thanked Him? Is that too much to do?
He casts our sins, to the bottom of the sea,
Because of Christ, He forgives you and me!

Have you considered, His amazing grace?
Have you thanked him, as you run your daily race?
The grace of God alone, is what saves your soul,
Have you o’er your life, given Him control?

Have you thanked Him, for life eternally?

For years, I had at times placed Scripture verses below the poems that God gives me. Then I had several inmates tell me how much they appreciated the “Bible Study poems.” Since then, I do not neglect those Scripture verses. It takes me longer to find the verses for the poem than it does to type God’s poem on the computer.

I don’t think any of us truly thank God for all He does for us. I don’t think any of us take into consideration what an awesome and majestic God we have. This Almighty and Amazing God, the Creator of the Universe . . . loves us! He wants us to communicate with Him! Simply amazing!

1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. (KJV) . . . As believers, the only self-worth we should consider is the fact that God loves us and calls us His children, and allows us to call Him “Father.” We are nothing without Him! He could reach down and squash us like a bug if He so desired. When I really think of this and what it means, it is hard to comprehend.

When I think of God’s forgiveness, it astounds me! IF we truly mourn for and repent of a sin, He forgives us, completely! He doesn’t forgive like we do. “I’ll forgive that rascal, but I won’t forget what he did to me.” That is NOT forgiveness!

So . . . HOW does God forgive?

Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. (KJV) . . . East and west can never meet. What a beautiful picture of our God’s forgiveness! When He forgives us, He separates that sin from us and doesn’t even remember it. God forgives and forgets. We tend to keep the ugly past alive. God wipes our record clean.
Micah 7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. (KJV) . . . I love this! God will NOT go fishing for those forgiven sins! They are gone for ever!
Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. (KJV) . . . Forgiven sins are dead to God!

Have you thanked God for the salvation of your soul? Have you thanked Him for life eternal in Heaven? If so, one day you shall see Jesus Face to face, and live with Him for ever!

John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (KJV) . . . IF you have accepted Jesus as your Saviour and Lord, your mansion awaits!

1 Peter 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, (KJV) . . . That mansion, your inheritance, is reserved in your name! NO one can take it from you!

There are SO many things that God does for us. We need to pay closer attention to how He blesses us each and every day, and we need to be more appreciative and thank Him!

God blesses us, so we might bless others around us.
If you honor Christ in your heart, He will be honored by your life.

From A Nobody To A Somebody

I was a nobody, until I believed,
By the grace of God, Christ Jesus I received.
Now I’m a somebody, head’d for Heav’n’s shore,
I’m a child of the King, who could ask for more?

Moses was a nobody, till he met the Lord,
Then he was a somebody, obeying God’s Word.
Tho’ he was not perfect, God prepar’d a way,
Moses led God’s people, each and ev’ry day.

Elijah was a nobody, without God’s pow’r,
But he was a somebody, in that great hour.
In a short pray’r, he called down fire from God on High,
Consum’d the sacrifice, and licked the water dry.

David was a nobody, a young shepherd lad,
Till he came up against Goliath, big and bad.
David became somebody, with faith so strong,
All somebodies, to God’s family belong.

I’m glad I’m a somebody, serving my Lord,
He chose me, equipp’d me, with His Spirit and Word.
From a nothing nobody, to belove’d child,
From God’s Home on High, I’ll ne’er be exiled.

Thank You Lord Jesus, my life’s greatest Treasure,
You give this somebody, such amazing pleasure.
You made this once nobody, into somebody,
Who shall with You in Heav’n, spend eternity.

None of us are a “somebody” in God’s eyes, without His only begotten Son. God’s love never ceases to amaze me! Jesus left the safety and security of Heaven, knowing He was coming to Earth to die!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV) . . . To “believe” is more than agreeing that Jesus is God. It means to place our faith and trust in Him, knowing that He, and He alone can save us from an everlasting Hell. It is to give Christ control of our lives and eternal destiny. Believing is to trust His Words as faithful, and to rely on Him for the power to change us.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV) . . . The Bible is SO clear that Jesus is the ONLY Way to Heaven!

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (KJV) . . . Belief in Jesus, gives eternal life NOW!

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (KJV) . . . Refusing to believe Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, condemns you to the Lake of Fire (Rev.20:15; 2 Thes.1:8-9).

Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: (KJV) . . . There IS a Hell! Don’t let anyone tell you differently! It IS there!

Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (KJV) . . . Hell is eternal punishment! Heaven is the place where only Jesus has the key! Trust Him today! He came to save your soul from Hell.

1 John 5:11-12 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (KJV) . . . Jesus came to Earth as Man for one reason, to save us from an eternal and agonizing Hell! If you can read the above verses and still deny this, Satan has a firm hold on you.

Words of Wisdom
Praise God! I no longer am a “nobody.”
I’m a “somebody” because Jesus made me a child of God.
He came to pay a debt He didn’t owe, because we had a debt we couldn’t pay.
