I CHOOSE JESUS

In the millions of gods this world has known,
I choose You Jesus, for my very own.
You are most holy, and absolute purity,
God of all ages, God of eternity.

I choose You Jesus, for my very own,
For Your Spirit abides, and I’m never alone.
You promise to never leave nor forsake,
And of Your grand love, I gladly partake.

Most Holy God, sinless, loving and just,
But my trust and obedience, is a must.
I choose You Jesus, for You died for me,
I gratefully accept You, for eternity.

As Saviour dear Jesus, You I do choose,
With You by my side, I simply can’t lose.
You’ve gone on ahead, my home to prepare,
Where I will forever, Your glory share.

Lord, I’m thankful, that You first chose me,
And have given me life eternal, all so free.
It’s an awesome privilege, You call me “friend,”
And that You’ll safely lead to my journey’s end.

Words of Wisdom
It’s never too early to receive Christ, but at any moment, it could be too late.
Life is a gift from God; how you live it is your gift to God.
The good news is not that Christ lived and died, but that He died and lives.
God’s will and intention is that we love people and use things. Most people reverse this.
God’s Presence WITH us, is His greatest present TO us.

John 1:1-14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. [6] There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. [7] The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. [8] He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. [9] That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. [11] He came unto his own, and his own received him not. [12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. [14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (KJV)

In the beginning the Word (Jesus) already existed; the Word was WITH God, and the Word WAS God. From the beginning the Word was with God. Through Him ALL things were made. NOT one thing in all Creation was made without Jesus!

Life itself was in Jesus, and this life gives light to everyone (ALL races, ALL people). His Light shines through the darkness, and the darkness can NEVER extinguish it.

God sent His messenger, a man named John, who came to tell people about the Light, so that all should hear the message and believe. John the Baptist was not the Light; he came only to tell about the Light, Jesus is the true Light, the Light that comes into the world and shines on ALL people.

But, even though the world was made by Jesus, the world did not recognize Him when He came. Even in His own land and among His own people (Jews) He was not accepted. But to any and all who believed Him and accepted Him, He had/has the right and the power to make them children of God. They are reborn (born again)! This is not like our physical birth resulting from human passion or plan; this rebirth comes only from God.

So Jesus became human and lived here on Earth among sinful mankind. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory; the glory of the only Son of the Father.

HOMESICK

I’ve been homesick often in past years,
So homesick, that I was brought to tears.
Homesick, for a place I’ve never seen,
Excepting that, of glorious dreams.

I’ve been homesick for my heav’n’ly home,
As a foreigner, on Earth I roam.
Thinking of life in eternity,
Knowing that Christ holds the only ‘key.’

I’ve been homesick for my “mansion” there,
Reserv’d for me, by Jesus who cares.
In this awesome City, of pure gold,
All the glory of God I’ll behold.

I’m homesick to see my Lord and King,
In this wondrous land of vast blessings.
When I die, angels will carry me,
To my true Home in eternity.

One day soon; I’ll be homesick no more,
For I’ll be there on those blissful shores.
Lord, thank You, for what You’ve done for me,
Securing my home in eternity.

Words of Wisdom
If we are not teaching people about Jesus and being saved, maybe it’s because we have forgotten the tragedy of being lost.
If we are not teaching the message of forgiveness, maybe it’s because we forgot what it feels like to feel guilty.
If we are not preaching the cross, could it be that we’ve subconsciously decided that (God forbid), we don’t need it?

1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; (KJV) As believers, we are strangers and pilgrims in THIS world in which we now live. As children of God, our true Home is with God. But Heaven is NOT the cloud and harp existence portrayed by many cartoonists. Heaven is where God lives; Heaven is God's Home! NO person really knows what Heaven is like.

2 Cor. 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. (KJV) I have read the description of Heaven many times; but I simply cannot picture it in my mind. Can you? It is simply too marvelous for words! Life in Heaven operates according to God’s principles and God’s values, not the world’s. It is eternal and unshakable. It is like God, it never changes (Mal.3:6l Heb.13:8; Jam.1:17). Heaven came to Earth in the Person of Christ Jesus, “God with us” (Mat. 1:23). It permeates the entire world, for the Holy Spirit lives in every believer, giving us a foretaste of what is to come.

Someday, after God judges and destroys all sin, the Kingdom of Heaven will rule every part of this Earth. John saw this day in a vision. Rev. 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (KJV) Amen!

Where should our true loyalty be? With our limited citizenship here on Earth??? NO! For this Earth shall be destroyed one day (Ps.102:25-27; Isa.24:19-20; 51:6; 65:17; 66:22; Mat.5:18; 24:3, 14, 29-31, 35-39; Luke 21:26-36; Heb.1:10-12; 2 Pet.3:10-13; Rev.20:11; 21:1).

Our loyalty SHOULD BE to our citizenship in Heaven; our loyalty SHOULD BE to God and His Truth, His way of life, and His people.

It is because we are loyal to God, that we often will feel like strangers in a world that tries to ignore God. I do feel homesick for my true Home at times, especially when I see all the horrendous evil, wickedness, violence, wars and oppression that is abundant worldwide.

A better day does lie ahead for all those who are faithful to God. Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. (KJV)

This world is NOT our home. We cannot and will not live here forever. Let us not get too attached to this world’s pleasures and possessions that we do not pay attention to Jesus’ command. Mark 14:38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. (KJV)

Are you homesick for Heaven??

TRUSTING THE LORD

Lord, You never, ever lie to me,
You are there when I need Your mercy.
Your love shines thru’ be it day or night,
You’re there for me, no matter my plight.

Trouble may come, but You never leave,
You’re there for me, when my soul does grieve.
Your amazing grace stands firm and true,
There are many reasons I trust You.

My friends and fam’ly may forsake me,
But You are there, for eternity.
You never change, You’re always the same,
Lord, I do trust, Your most Holy Name.

When I repent, forgiveness is mine,
Your mercy for me, truly does shine.
You are trustworthy, You are so true,
My precious Lord, let me trust in You.

You are my Shield from the fiery darts,
That Satan wields to my trusting heart.
You are my Shepherd, You care for me,
Lord, I’ll trust You, for eternity.

You promised to save me from dark Hell,
You promised that in Heaven I’d dwell.
I claim Your Promises that You make,
I trust that You will never forsake.

Trust means many things: faith, believing, confidence, hope, reliance, dependence, expectation, anticipation. When we trust God, we first of all must have faith that He is who He says He is, and that He will do what He says He will do. We must believe what He so clearly states in His Word. We must believe that He CANNOT lie. Even some of the most trustworthy people will occasionally lie, even if they think it’s just a “little white lie.” To God, a lie is a sin. A sin is a sin! We humans tend to categorize sins. This is a big sin, but that is just a little one; and most often, we are the ones doing the little ones.

God does NOT lie, does NOT sin in any way! We can believe any and all that He tells us. So . . . WHY don’t more people trust Him???

When we trust God, we have confidence in Him to do as He has promised. He has NEVER broken ANY Promise He has ever made. Isn’t that reason enough to trust Him?

When we trust God, we have hope within us that we can rely on Him, no matter the circumstance. We know that He is there for us and He will never leave or forsake us. We know we can depend on Him completely to help us. We know we can count on His love, mercy and comforting Presence. We can expect Him to be there for us. We can anticipate His grace and encouragement.

When we become “born again” believers, we are NOT exempt from pain, sorrow, distress or temptation. The big difference is that we as God’s children have His Presence with us at all times . . . FOREVER! (John 14:16; 2 John 2:1). God does not remove our troubles, He walks with us through those troubles. His Presence gives us comfort, confidence and certainty that we will come out OK. We are assured of it by the Holy Spirit abiding within us.

Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (KJV)

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (KJV) God will NEVER leave us . . . NEVER abandon us.

Psalm 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up. (KJV) Even if you were forsaken by father and/or mother, God will NEVER forsake His children. God in His love to us, calls us to seek our mercies in Him.

Psalm 27:8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. (KJV) The call is general, but we must apply it to ourselves. “I will seek it.” His Word does us NO good, when we do not accept the advice He gives. We must seek the continuance of His Presence with us; we must seek His divine guidance and His divine protection. God’s time to help those that trust Him is when all other helpers fail. He is much more faithful, and a better Friend than earthly parents or friends can be.

Words of Wisdom
When God shuts a door, He opens a window (1 Cor.10:13).

TRUST HIM!!!

Words of Wisdom
Love is giving for the world’s needs, Love is sharing as the Spirit leads.
Love is caring when the world cries, Love is compassion with Christ-like eyes.

From our brother, Nolan

John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (KJV) When God created, He made everything from nothing. Our Lord was crowned with a “crown of thorns” in mockery by the Romans (Mat.27:29). The object of Pilate’s guard in doing this was probably to insult, and not really to inflict pain. It was probably the thorny bush, which grew abundantly around Jerusalem, which was flexible enough to be plaited into a crown. Since Jesus made everything, He made this thorny bush which pierced His Brow. Too He created that certain tree, (some say it was a Dogwood) upon which He was crucified.

Col. 1:16-17 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: [17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (KJV) ALL things in the heavens and in the Earth were created by Jesus, so the nails that were driven into His Hands and Feet were made from iron ore that came from the ground, made by Him, that was formed into the nails that held Him to that horrific cross. Have you ever really considered the agony Jesus went through . . . for us? Not many people have! Those nails did not hold Him to that cross, it was His love that held Him there. He could have come down at any time, but IF He had, where would we be? How could our sins be forgiven without the atoning Blood of Jesus? Have you thanked Jesus today?

Jesus wasn’t hard on Thomas for his doubts. Some people doubt a long time before they believe! It is when doubt becomes stubbornness, and stubbornness becomes a life style that doubt kills faith. When you doubt, don’t stop there; continue to search for the answer.

Hebrews 1:1-2 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, [2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (KJV) Jesus made ALL things! The hill where they crucified our Saviour was made by Jesus, also the material that went into His supposed seamless robe that the soldiers cast lots for. The grave where they laid His Body was hewn from rocks that He made. But, Jesus did NOT stay in that grave! Praise God!

Jesus was resurrected! He is alive! Death could NOT hold Him. He had complete victory over death; for Himself and for us! We have victory when we “overcome.” (1 John 4:4; Rev.2:7). To overcome is to be victorious by believing in Christ, being persistent in our faith, remaining faithful to Him, and to live being a disciple of Christ. Such a life brings great rewards (Rev.21:7). Jesus is Heir of ALL things and He will be Judge of ALL people!

Rev. 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (KJV) Ever so worthy is the Lamb that was slain, to receive all power, all riches, all wisdom, all strength, all honor, all glory and all blessings, now and forever more (Rev.5:12). For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things; to whom be glory now and forever. Amen! (Rom.11:36). The all powerful Son of God deserves our praise for the Sacrifice He made for us!

A PRIVILEGE

A wondrous privilege, is that of prayer,
For Almighty God, truly does care!
God wants His children, in Him to abide,
Communication lines, are open wide!

Prayer can bring us instant relief,
For God can remove our sorrow and grief!
Prayer can remove our anxiety,
From all our worries, we can be free!

When we ‘talk’ to God, fear goes away,
Be it the night, morning, or mid-day!
To go to God in daily prayers,
Will help greatly, to dissolve your cares!

We can access God, in the night so still,
Great comfort from Him, your heart will fill!
We can go to Him in broad daylight,
Just He can chase away ling’ring fright!

When problems come up, I can’t solve alone,
Prayer helps the answer be clearly shown!
When I feel lost, and helpless and weak,
It’s a privilege, that to God I can speak!

When all my strength seems to dissipate,
He gives me pow’r, I can’t duplicate!
When all that I do just seems to fail,
His love and wisdom always prevails!

If you face a day that seems hopeless,
Go to God in prayer, and He will bless!
Don’t go it alone, or you will fall,
Use the privilege of prayer; and on God call!

Some Thoughts on Prayer

The less I pray, the harder things are.
The more I pray, the better it goes.
God would rather have a heart without words, than words without a heart.
Prayer is not conquering God’s reluctance, but clinging to His willingness.
The best answers are not always the fastest.
Delayed answers try our faith and allow us to honor God
by our steadfast confidence in Him.
God’s Promises are like huge corpses. They lie without life, in decay.
We can take hold of them and bring them to life by faith and prayer.
Interruptions are divine instructions.

Don’t forget to praise God when you pray.

A prayer of praise:

  • 1. Magnifies God. It places our focus on God, not our problems.
  • 2. It humbles me. I see the correct view of myself. Pride and ego are deflated.
  • 3. It reveals my devotion to Christ. IF I really love Jesus, I will praise Him and give Him first place in my life. I will honor Him with praise and thanksgiving.
  • 4. Motivates me to holy living. It opens my heart to see how God wants me to live, a holy, separated life; one that desires to do His will above my own. A life in which I want to be more like Him with each passing day.
  • 5. Praise ministers to all aspects of my life. A. . . . My spirit . . . by creating humility and joy. B. . . . My inner self . . . by clearing my mind, calming my emotions and setting my will to do His will. C. . . . My physical body . . . .by releasing everyday tensions and stress and replacing that with God’s love, power and peace.

How to Increase Your Faith.

  • 1. Read God’s Word. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (KJV)
  • 2. Exercise the faith you already have.
  • 3. Face the trials God allows with assurance.
  • 4. Listen to the testimony of others.
  • 5. PRAY! When God answers prayer, faith is renewed.
  • 6. Be obedient to God. Faith and obedience go together. You cannot have one without the other. If you love God, you will trust Him AND you will obey Him.

June 2003 Monthly Message

LORD, I APPRECIATE YOU

Lord, I appreciate you, more each day,
You’re there to help me, in so many ways.
There in early morning’s soft dewy light,
Talking with you, starts my day out right.

Lord, I value your Presence, ever so near,
Knowing You’re with me, I’ve nothing to fear.
You’re always just a short prayer away,
Whether it be dark night, or brilliant day.

Lord, I gratefully recognize your pow’r,
It’s there, within me, no matter the hour.
I humbly admit, there’s nought I can do,
But I can do it all, with pow’r from you.

Each single day Lord, I appreciate,
Your lovingkindness, I do not rate.
Such great peace and joy, overflow my soul,
I’m grateful dear Lord, that you’re in control.

I dearly cherish, that You call me “friend”,
I recognize Lord, You’re here to my end.
Life on this Earth, is fleeting and vain,
Only with you Jesus, do I have true gain!

I greatly prize the position You give,
A child of the Father; in Heav’n I’ll live.
An heir to Almighty God in Heaven,
Lord, I appreciate, all you’ve given.

Scriptures for above poem: (Jer.23:23; Ac.17:27; Ro.8:17; Gal.4:7; Phil.4:13; Ps.34:18; 145:18; Jn.15:15; 3:15-18; 14:6)

Do any of us really appreciate the Lord Jesus as we should?

Psalm 92:1-2 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: [2] To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, (KJV) The gratitude in our hearts should be verbalized in our thanks every day. We can never say “thank you” enough to parents, friends and especially God. When we thank Him, we are telling Him just how much we appreciate Him. Praise and thanksgiving should become an essential part of our lives, because when it does, we will see our attitude toward life change. We will become more gracious, loving, kind and humble, toward those around us, and toward God.

Hebrews 13:15-16 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. [16] But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. (KJV) A “sacrifice of praise” is thanking Christ for His Sacrifice on the cross, and telling others about it. And any acts of kindness are pleasing to God, even when they go unnoticed by others. When we live by faith in Christ, we are set apart to God by His precious Blood. We must willingly separate ourselves from this evil world. Let us go forth by faith, for we will find rest and peace which this world cannot have. The sacrifice of praise to God we should always offer.

1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (KJV) The sacrifices of the Old Testament have ceased, but our praise should NEVER cease. When we praise God, we confess what He really means to us, and in this manner, it is impossible to exceed the truth, for this is genuine praise! BUT, the sacrifice of praise with our lips is not enough; we must also do good (kindness and love) and communicating (telling others of your good fortune (Mat.28:19). Far too many PROFESSING Christians NEVER tell of Jesus! If you are ashamed of Jesus, He will be ashamed of you (Mark 8:38; Mat.7:23). You do NOT want this to happen!

Hosea 14:2 Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. (KJV) We sometimes wander away from God. We sometimes forget to praise Him, to thank Him for all He has done in the past and will continue to do in the future. But when we repent and turn back to Him, He will take away all iniquity and graciously receive us. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV) We can go to God in prayer and know our sins are forgiven because Christ died on the cross for us (John 3:16). Forgiveness begins when we see how destructive sin is and see the frustration of life without God. We must admit we cannot save ourselves; our only hope is God’s mercy. We do not deserve forgiveness. Our appeal must be for God’s love and mercy. We can be confident we have received it because of Jesus. Thank Him now! Tell Him how much you appreciate Him and all He has done for you.

LUKE 16:23

Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. (KJV)

Luke’s Gospel; sixteen, verse twenty three,
These words say so much, to you and me.
So few words, yet God’s children they bless,
Yet too, we see, the world’s wickedness.

These words show, there are two roads ahead,
One leads to bliss and comfort; one to dread.
You are on one of those roads today,
One leads to Glory Land; one Hell’s way.

The words tell us, we’ll live eternally,
In Heaven, OR in Hell, verily.
When we leave Earth, we’ll go anoth’r place,
Hell’s torment, or the Light of God’s Face!

The words reveal, you’ll have mem’ries there,
Hell will be torment; beyond compare.
You’ll wish you could live life o’er again,
But there’s no such luck; you are condemn’d.

The words say those in Hell; see Heav’n far off,
But they refused His ‘Gift’, God they did scoff!
There’s no turning back; once you are there,
You rejected Jesus; you did not care!

You’ll be in torment, for ever more,
Without Christ, you’ll not live on Heav’n’s shore.
No mercy; just torment, and agony,
For you cast off God’s grace, eternally!

If you are reading these words today,
It’s still not too late, God to obey.
Accept His ONE Plan, to save your soul,
Jesus will grant Heaven, as your goal!

Scriptures for above poem: (Lu.16:19-31; Ec.12:7; Heb.9:27; Jn.3:15-18,36; 5:24; 8:24; 14:2-3,6)
Read the whole account of Lazarus and the rich man (Luke 16:19-31).

This is one of those times that I will let the Lord speak to you.
He can do it so much better than I can.

Eccles. 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. (KJV) Our soul is eternal and will live somewhere forever!

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (KJV) Some teach reincarnation. The Bible teaches no such nonsense! Some cults teach you will have a second chance, so why worry about it now. This verse says they are WRONG!

John 3:15-18 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV) Jesus clearly states here that with Him you have eternal life . . . and without Him you have eternal punishment.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (KJV) IF you believe on Jesus. you have eternal life in Heaven. IF you refuse to believe on Him, the wrath of God is upon you, and you will never even “see” Heaven (John 3:3).

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (KJV) IF we believe on Jesus, whom God has sent, we have eternal life. Simple as that!

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (KJV) There are MANY gods in the world today, but only ONE God can save your soul. IF you do not believe in His Son, you will die in your sins, no matter who you are, where you are from, or what race you are!

John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (KJV) If you are born again (John 1:12-13; 3:3), Jesus has gone ahead to prepare for you a dwelling place in Heaven, that you may live with Him there forever.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV) So very, very plain! NO one gets to God the Father except through Jesus, the only begotten Son!

WILL I KNOW HIM?

Will I know Him that day, when Him I see?
In the clouds above, coming for me?
The Rapture will be, one awesome day,
And by God’s ‘clock’, it’s not far away!

Will I know Him, at the Judgment Seat?
When Christ judges all my works complete?
By what motives I had, He will judge,
Never from righteousness, will He budge!

Will I really know Him, when Him I see?
In my eternal Home, waiting for me?
He’ll have more glory, that street of gold,
Or the glist’ning walls, God’s Word has foretold!

When Jesus I see, will Him I know?
When His true glory, and brightness show?
I will know Him, and fall at His Feet,
When my precious Saviour, I finally meet!

Though I’ve never seen my precious Lord,
And His actual Voice, I’ve never heard,
‘Tis a fact; I’ll know Him, when Him I see,
For He’s etched on my heart, eternally!

Words of Wisdom
Upon a life I did not live, Upon a death I did not die,
Another’s life, Another’s death, On this I stake eternity!
It is finished, yes indeed, Completely finished, every jot,
Sinner, this is all you need! Tell me, is it not?

The Rapture

1 Thes. 4:13-18 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. [14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. [15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. [16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. [18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (KJV)

John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (KJV)

Death is a mysterious thing. I know that before I became a child of God, I was actually terrified of dying. Paul would say: “We need to talk about what you will do if something happens to me.” And I would say: “I don’t want to talk about it.” I was afraid to die, afraid of death. When Jesus came into my life, I lost that fear, that terror. He took it all away! Why should I be afraid to die? God’s Word tells me: 2 Cor. 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. (KJV) Death is separation. When we die, it is simply our body and soul separating, and our soul, our spirit goes back to the Lord immediately! (Ecc.12:7; Luke 16:22).

We know little about the state after death; yet the doctrines of resurrection and Christ’s return should take the fear of death away. God’s true children should have full assurance that He will be with us to the end (Mat.28:20).

But, what about those who shall never die a physical death? Those who shall be “caught up” with Jesus in the clouds at the Rapture? This will be one extremely joyous day! All the saints shall meet, and remain together forever; but . . . is that the basic principle of the happiness of Heaven? NO! Our true happiness is to be with the Lord, to see Him, to live with Him and to enjoy His Presence for ever and ever, and to serve Him forever!

Have you ever thought about whether or not you will be able to recognize Jesus when you finally do see Him? We shall see Him one day, Face to face! I know I will know my precious Saviour and Lord! And I know that I will know Him when I stand before the Judgment Seat (! CDor.3:11-15), even though I have not yet ever seen Him physically; I have seen Him spiritually, in my heart and soul. Are you ready for Jesus to come? Do you feel comfort in knowing He could come at any hour, any day? IF you are an unbeliever, you will be left behind at the Rapture. Is this what you want? If not, open your heart’s door to Jesus today. Then you too will one day go on this marvelous trip!

SIGNS

There are many signs that do not exist,
When to Jesus your life you commit.
Signs that we see each and ev’ry day,
When approaching Jesus, won’t be display’d!

Out to Lunch” --- this sign you will never see,
For Jesus is ‘on call’ constantly!
He never takes time off, day or night,
So --- He’ll be there! no matter our plight!

This sign you’ll never see “Computer Down,”
‘Tis stressful, and really makes me frown!
Tho’ systems of the world go askew,
The data base of Christ, always runs true!

Take a Number” --- this sign you’ll never see,
We’ll not have to stand in line, you and me!
We need not eagerly ‘wait our turn,’
We can go ‘at once’ with our concerns.

Business hours are from 9 to 5,”
This sign you’ll never see, as you strive.
24 hours a day, 7 days a week,
Jesus’ door is open when Him you seek!

Out of order” is a sign you’ll not find,
When you access the Lord, e’er so kind.
He never malfunctions, or breaks down,
A blessing, for it won’t cause us to frown.

Closed for vacation” a sign not to be found,
Tho’ here on Earth, they greatly abound.
Jesus never, ever takes ‘time off,’
From the ‘Bride’ to whom He did betroth.

So many signs that infuriate,
Signs that disappoint and make you wait.
None of those signs you will ever see,
When you access the Lord of eternity.

Words of Wisdom
Those who see God’s Hand in everything,
feel great comfort in placing everything in His hand.

When a believer dies, he has just begun to live.

Have you ever been troubled or even angered at some of the signs you come across? I surely have. “OUT TO LUNCH” will not be seen when we go to talk to the Lord. He’s always on call, always there for us! To me, that’s a tremendous blessing!

How many times have you seen a sign “COMPUTER DOWN”? It is so aggravating and time consuming. Maybe it’s just that I don’t have enough patience to sit around and wait. There will NEVER be a time when Jesus’ computer breaks down! He’s always there!

I think “TAKE A NUMBER” is one of the worst ones for me. We NEVER have to stand in line for Jesus! He’s NEVER too busy to see us no matter what time of the day or night we go to Him. Our problem doesn’t get tabled or put on hold.

“HOURS --- 9 TO 5” is something we need not worry about. The door to Jesus and His Father is open ALL the time --- 7 days a week, 24 hours a day --- everyday! We don’t have to wait for office hours to begin before we can go to them. Their office hours are always!

“OUT OF ORDER” God’s service NEVER malfunctions at any time, ever!

“CLOSED FOR VACATION” God the Father, nor Christ NEVER take a vacation from us! If we need them day or night, rain or shine, they are there!

What great privileges we as God’s children possess! We can go directly to our Creator, Almighty God, whenever we desire, and we are NEVER turned away! In fact, we are always welcome and greeted with open arms! Have you thanked Jesus today? Have you thanked our heavenly Father today? Have you praised them for what they do for us? If not, why not? Do it now! (Col.1:12; Heb.13:15; Ps.35:28; 51:15; 100:4; 107:22).

WE MUST NOT DENY HIM

In the early morn’, as the rooster crows,
I think of Peter and his sorrow.
He was so sure he’d not turn away,
But he denied Christ, fore’ the break of day.

“I know Him not” were words Peter said,
These four little words, caused him dread.
Not once, not twice, but three times he’d deny,
Our precious Lord, whom they would crucify.

“If I have to, I will die with You,”
Peter’s heartfelt words, he thought were true.
But those very words he spoke that night,
Early the next morn’ would cause him fright.

When the cock crow’d, Peter was mortified,
What had he done? Christ he’d denied!
Great tears welled up, as he sobbed in grief,
It would be a while, ‘fore he found relief!

Peter did sob, uncontrollably,
His heart and soul were in agony.
He was so sorry for what he’d done,
He denied Christ Jesus, God’s own Son!

There are many ways, we too can deny,
Our precious Saviour, who was crucified.
Are you afraid of what friends might say?
If you stood for Jesus this very day?

We can’t deny Christ’s death, and be forgiv’n,
We can’t deny He’s alive, and access Heav’n.
We can’t deny He’s God and He’s Man,
We can’t deny God’s one and only Plan.

We need to stand close to Jesus’ side,
This awesome Christ, who was crucified.
We need to follow Him ev’ry day,
For He loves us and guides, in all right ways.

Words of Wisdom
God’s resources are always more abundant than His requirements.
A hero is just an ordinary man, except he’s just braver five minutes longer.
Most of us use weak thread when we mend our ways.
The true test of love is loyalty.

Have you ever seriously thought about what you would have done in Peter’s place? Consider some steps in his fall. Can you see yourself in any of them?
CONCEIT (Mat.26:33). Many times we let pride and arrogance take over. We think we are more than we are.
CASUALNESS (Mat.26:40). Many times we fall asleep when we should pray.
IMPULSIVENESS (John 18:10-11). Far too often we say or do things without thinking.
FOLLOWING AFAR OFF (Mat.26:58). Many of us are guilty of this.
EVIL ASSOCIATIONS (John 18:18). Many times we choose wrong friends.
BLASPHEMY (Mark 14:71). How many times do you use the Lord’s Name in vain?
OPEN DENIAL (John 18:25). Maybe we don’t openly deny Christ, but there are many ways we can deny our Lord! (1) Keeping quiet when we should speak. (2) Being ashamed to take a public stand with Him. (3) Serving Him with a resentful or unwilling attitude. (4) Going along with something we know is wrong. (5) Willingly practicing sin. (6) Watching filthy movies and soap operas. These are just a few of many.

But, Peter did NOT stay in his fallen position! He was truly sorry for what he had done and he repented. He was empowered with the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost and was courageous, bold and immovable for our Lord! (Acts 4:19-20; 5:28-29; 5:40,42). He spoke with great boldness and courage. (Acts 2:14; 4:13, 19-20).

Peter was a channel of blessing to the sick (Acts 5:15). He raised Tabitha from death (Acts 9:40). He was responsible for leading many Gentiles to the Lord (Acts 10:44).

Peter wrote two letters, First and Second Peter, which are still a blessing to us today. In writing the epistles, Peter obeyed two specific commands that Jesus had given him.
(1) To encourage and strengthen the brethren (Luke 22:32).
(2) To feed the flock of God (John 21:15-17).

When we mess up, we need to remember Peter. He came to his senses and became a bold servant for the Lord Jesus Christ, for the remainder of his days.

RIVER OF LIFE

As you sail down the river of life,
You pass many dangers, toils and strife.
Where have you moor’d your vessel this day?
Have you tied to Christ? or dock’d far away?

Do you not know, your vessel is weak?
Do you not know, ‘tis Christ you should seek?
When life’s angry waves envelope you,
Grab hold of Christ, He will see you thru’!

If you moor to something, that is not strong,
You will break away, before too long.
When you tie to Christ, you are secure,
And thru’ storms of life, you will endure!

When sailing is smooth, and things go right,
Most don’t think of His wisdom and might.
But when a great storm of life explodes,
You’ll wish He were there, for that episode!

Why consider ev’n one day alone?
When Christ’s glorious Presence, you can own.
When you tie to Christ, you moor safe and sound,
Ev’n when those great storms of life abound!

You’ll ne’er be alone, when to Christ you tie,
Don’t go somewhere else, and pass Him by!
He patiently waits, throw Him your rope,
On this river of life, He’s your only hope!

Words of Wisdom
An attitude of gratitude can make your life a beatitude.
A good attitude starts with gratitude to God.
It’s not what’s in your pocket that makes you thankful; but what’s in your heart.
When you pause to think; you have cause to thank.

Thankfulness is an action and an attitude (a way of thinking). Take time to thank God for the good things in your life. Instead of grumbling about everything, be happy for what you have, and thank God. Count your many blessings instead of adding up all your troubles and sorrows.

Psalm 116:17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord. (KJV) Hebrews 13:15-16 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. [16] But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. (KJV) What is one thing you can offer to God that won’t cost you a cent? What is the one thing that will truly please Him?

Psalm 69:30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. (KJV) How many times a day do you praise God for what He has done.

Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. (KJV) Always open your prayers with praise and thanksgiving. Tell Him how much you appreciate Him. Tell Him what it means to you to have Him by your side when troubles or sorrows come your way. We never know what the bend of the river will bring. Trust Him to be there for you. Tie to Him securely!

Psalm 105:1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. (KJV) Do you tell others what great things God has done for you?

Col. 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. (KJV) When you trust God with all your heart, you will have that awesome peace of God within. Even when life hands you an unexpected trial, you know you will come out on top, for He is with you, walking with you through the trouble.

EVERY problem in life that you face is a test, and allowed by God. Will you trust the Lord? How you respond to the problem will tell you the answer. If you accept every problem without murmuring (belly aching), it can make you stronger and more patient. It may not make you happy, but you will learn a lesson that will help in days to come. James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. (KJV)

JUST JESUS

If you don’t have Jesus in your heart,
Evil and wickedness won’t depart!
You are simply the old devil’s pawn,
Just Jesus, can make all sins be gone!

If you don’t have Jesus, you are lost,
Did you ever consider the cost?
Jesus in your heart, makes all things new,
You He will change, you’ll have a diff’rent view.

With Jesus in your heart, you’ll be blest,
He’ll give joy, and peace, and perfect rest!
Out with the old ways, in with the new,
Just Jesus, can make a whole new you!

With Jesus in your heart, things do change,
Just Jesus, your life can re-arrange.
From selfish and proud; to giving and meek,
From running from God; now Him you seek!

With Jesus in your heart, things are bright,
All darkness is gone; now there is “Light”.
Eternal life on Heav’n’s blissful shore,
Just Jesus can do all this, and more.

Scriptures for above poem:
(Eze.11:19; 2 Co. 4:16; 5:17; Gal.6:15; Ep.4:17-32;
Ps.51:10; Ro.12:2; Col.3:10; Tit.3:5; 1 Jn.5:1;
Jn.1:12-13; 3:3-8,15-18; 1 P.1:23)

Words of Wisdom
No Jesus, no peace. Know Jesus, know peace!
Jesus is the Answer, now; what is the question?

I have a great burden for lost souls, as many of you know. And lately, it’s been a heavier burden than usual. It saddens me and causes me to grieve, that millions are going through that wide gate and walking that broad road that leads to Hell. Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (KJV)

There are SO many false religions, and SO many who worship false gods, SO many who seek after false teachers who teach NOT the Truth, but only what people want to hear. 2 Tim. 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; [4] And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (KJV) People still want to hear “lies” just like the days of old. Isaiah 30:10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: (KJV) People do NOT want to hear that they are sinners and if they do not repent, they are doomed for everlasting destruction. 2 Thes. 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (KJV) JUST JESUS can change this!

The devil always makes wrong and false things SEEM right and good. He leads so that many souls go down the wrong road. He is brilliant! Every false doctrine that he and his cohorts bring before people, has SOME truth to it. He cannot say that there is no God; for people know there is, and won’t believe him. So, he tells them there are many gods, and that all religions lead to Heaven. That, they believe! I have one in my family who tells me: “Your religion is not the only way.” What I believe, is NOT my way! It is the way of Almighty God! He is the one and only TRUE God, the Creator of the Universe. He cannot lie (Titus 1:2). We MUST believe Him, or be doomed to Hell.

Some people refuse to believe in Jesus, Some cults say He was simply a great Teacher, but NOT the Son of God. Some say He was the brother of Lucifer (the devil). How utterly ridiculous! Jesus was the Creator . . . NOT a created being! John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (KJV) John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. (KJV) Col. 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (KJV) Hebrews 1:1-2 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, [2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (KJV)

Millions follow a god of hate and violence. The TRUE God is a God of love, mercy, forgiveness and grace. He does NOT tell us to murder people who do not believe as we do. He wants us to follow after peace (Mat.5:9), NOT violence and war with our neighbors.

Many people refuse to believe on Jesus because the way is so narrow. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV) They refuse to limit themselves to such a WAY! They think if their good outweighs their bad, Heaven is theirs. WRONG! The Bible plainly tells us IF we want to reach Heaven’s gate, we MUST go through Jesus! JUST JESUS!

1 John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (KJV) Unless a person believes on the Name of Jesus (John 1:12-13), they won’t ever go to Heaven. Unless a person is born again, they won’t even SEE Heaven (John 3:3).

Eternal life in Heaven is a FREE GIFT that God offers to everyone, through Jesus, His Son. Accept it today! JESUS! JUST JESUS!
