ARE YOU A BACKSLIDER?
Has prayer in your life come to a halt?
Do you blame God for things, say it’s His fault?
When over your life you do so reflect,
Do you find you no longer, God respect?
Have you stopped studying God’s good Word?
Are you smug with what you know of our Lord?
Do you make excuses, and church you did stop?
Fellowship with others, we must not drop.
Have you stopped applying His Word to life?
Is recreation and pleasure with you rife?
Do you mouth hymns and Scripture, without heart?
Do earthly ‘things’ make you from God depart?
Can you watch the filth on movies and TV?
Or read dirty books, you shouldn’t ev’n see?
Some just wouldn’t miss their favorite show,
But the weakest excuse, and church they’ll not go.
Are you content with lack of His power?
With His help, you wouldn’t have to cower.
Has your heart gotten very cold and hard?
That tears for the lost, you need not retard?
Do you go along with the world’s lifestyle?
Compromising your morals, the whole while?
The backslider is full of his own ways,
Is this what you want, the rest of your days?
A backslider is unfaithful, to God,
Turned aside from his way, as he does trod.
If this describes you, turn back to His way,
Don’t wander from Him, even one more day!

Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. [KJV] Jesus Words
Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? [KJV] Jesus ’ Words Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. [KJV]
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. [KJV]
Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; [KJV]
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. [KJV]
1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; [KJV]
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. [KJV]
At this time of the year nearly everyone looks back over the past year and makes New Year’s resolutions. As you ‘take inventory’ of your relationship with God and His Son; in just what condition is your membership with the family of God? Are you standing where you should be? Do you obey Jesus’ commands? Do you love God with all your heart and soul and mind and strength? Do you love your neighbor (red, yellow, black or white) as yourself? Are you as dedicated and committed to our Lord as you were a year ago? Are you ‘growing in Christ’ or are you still a spiritual baby? Do you willingly, want to serve Him? Remember, knowing you should do something, and neglecting to do so, is just as bad as doing something you know is wrong. Sins of omission are just as bad as sins of commission in God’s eyes. Do you truly have concern for His lost sheep? Are you telling others about Jesus? You know you should! Or have you backslidden, away from God’s grace and mercy and into the grasp of the ‘prince of this world’?
One day we all will stand before the Judge of this world. Jesus will judge us on how we used our time, abilities, words, authority, money, etc.; how faithful we were to Him, and how we treated others, to name a few things. Are you ready for this fateful day? Are you ready for Jesus to come? Or are there some ‘things’ you need to get right with God? If you have strayed from God, resolve to get ‘back on track’ with Him, now!
Words of wisdom
1. The hallmark of a true Christian is that he does whatever the Lord asks him to do.
2. The birthmarks of God’s children are love, obedience, and truth.
3. The true test of loyalty is love. Do you really love God as you should?

SIGNS OF LOVE
There are many outward signs of love,
To show we are children of God above.
First, consider, we must show we care,
And if we’re needed, to always be there.
Another sign of love is concern,
Showing an interest, this we must learn.
Compassion too, we must always show,
As God in Heav’n on us does bestow.
True love will always reveal kindness,
A soft, tender heart; we must possess.
Yet another sign is humility,
Pride must NOT be our identity!
Patience is something we must not forget,
Losing our temper, we’ll always regret!
Gentleness is a sign of true love,
A fruit of the Spirit, from God above!
If we truly love, we will forgive,
As God forgives us, each day we live!
Helping each other in time of need,
If one is hurting, we should pay heed.
A great sign of love is faithfulness,
There in troubles, small or serious.
We must learn to love with the love of God,
If we want to please Him, as we trod.

Words of Wisdom
Love is a basket with 5 loaves and 2 fishes.
It’s never enough until you start giving it away.
Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [KJV] (Also see Matthew 7:12) Do unto others!
Matthew 25:31-40 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: [32] And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: [33] And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. [34] Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: [35] For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: [36] Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. [37] Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? [38] When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? [39] Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? [40] And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. [KJV] Jesus’ Words.
God’s love and what the world considers love cannot be compared. In my Bible classes I teach that love is the 3 C’s: care, concern and compassion. If you truly love someone, you are attentive to their every need because you care for them. Your concern for their well-being brings about sincere feelings and thoughtfulness. You take an interest and you don’t hesitate to get involved. Your heart is truly sympathetic when they have sorrow or distress. You reach out to them with tenderness, consideration and mercy because you have compassion. This is the kind of love that God bestows upon us. The world’s love is sex, lust and selfish demands. True love is NEVER selfish, nor demanding! Many wrongly declare: “Marriage is a 50/50 proposition.” If BOTH parties are not willing to commit 100% to the relationship, the marriage is doomed before it starts!
1 Corinthians 13:1-7 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. [1]
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. [2]
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. [4] Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, [5]
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; [6] Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
[7] Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. (KJV) If we as God’s children would show more true love to God and each other, the world would be a better place.
Q. Can a ‘saved’ person ever be lost to Hell?
A. There are many who do not believe the doctrine of ‘once saved, always saved.’ They believe a person can fall from grace when they sin. The Bible does NOT teach this. If you have truly believed and accepted Christ into your heart; He has placed you into the family of God (John 1:12-13). God will NOT say: “When you sin, you are no longer my child.”Once His child, always His child! The Blood of Christ has cleansed us from all unrighteousness (Romans 5:1-10; 1 John 1:6-10). 2 Peter 2:20-22 and Hebrews 6:4-6 are often quoted, as saying that a person can lose salvation. Peter is talking about false prophets who never became His sheep; but remained dogs. Hebrews is speaking about those who ‘profess’ to be Christians, but do not ‘possess’ Christ in their hearts. They are hypocrites, liars. The churches today are full of these folks, including some in the pulpits! If Christ has enlightened you, and you possess the Holy Ghost, it is IMPOSSIBLE for you to lose your salvation. If you truly trust and obey Christ, you have a mansion reserved for you! Believe it!

I SEE JESUS EVERYWHERE
On each scarlet rose, I see so pure,
The crimson Blood of my dear Saviour.
When I see a flower, I see His Face,
Filled with such beauty, love, and grace!
In the sun, I see His ne’er ending Light,
Stars remind me of His eyes, so bright.
Rain makes me think of the tears He shed,
For you and me; out of love, not dread.
When I see a great oak tree, so tall,
I feel His strength, that won’t let me fall.
Too, when I see a tree, I’m at a loss,
For in every tree, I see His Cross.
Thunder makes me think of His voice so strong,
That He’ll use in judgment of all wrong.
With His breath He does make the sea obey,
A raging storm; or calmed, and stayed.
When I see a vine, twisted with thorns,
I think of the ‘crown’ He had adorned.
He died on that Cross to set us free,
But nearly all people from Him flee.
I see Him always; He’s all around,
When I look at the sky, or on the ground.
The gentle breeze makes me know He’s near,
He’s always close, I’ve nothing to fear.

Words of Wisdom
Look where you are going, because you will end up going where you are looking.
Psalms 19:1-6 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork. [2]
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. [3] There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. [4]
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,[5]
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race .[6]
His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. (KJV)
We are surrounded by God’s fantastic craftsmanship. All is evidence of His existence, His power, His love, and His care. To say that the universe happened by chance is absurd. Its design, complexity, and orderliness point to a Creator who was personally involved. As you look at God’s handiwork in nature and the heavens, can you ‘see Jesus?’ He can be seen ‘everywhere’ and you don’t need a magnifying glass! When you look at a beautiful flower or a dazzling sunset, the beauty of His personality is there! All the ‘lights’ of the universe, make me think of the day when they will no longer be needed, for all we will need is His never ending Light! Did you ever think of all the tears our Lord shed — for you, and for me? Each time it rains, it reminds me of His tears! What about the strength of a huge tree — or majestic mountain! Jesus made that tree, and that mountain! (Heb.1:2). His strength is greater than anything imaginable, and it’s there for you and me! Each time I hear a crash of thunder, I think of His Voice in the judgment of unbelievers. When I think how He created the universe, just by speaking — it boggles my mind! And His Voice is still calming storms and seas today. When you feel that gentle breeze, do you not feel His Presence? When you see a vine twisted with thorns, do you ever think of that horrendous ‘crown’ they crushed down on His precious Head? If you love the Lord, you truly can see Him everywhere!
Romans 1:18-20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; [19]
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them. [20]
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (KJV)
God reveals what He is like, in and through His Creation. Every person either accepts or rejects God. Don’t let Satan fool you. The day will come when Christ will judge your response to Him. NO excuses will be accepted. Our Creator’s invisible power and Godhead are so clearly shown in the works He has made, that even the most wicked unbelievers don’t have an excuse. NO one has an excuse for not believing in God? Begin today to give your devotion and worship to him.
Q. Please explain ‘sanctification’ and ‘justification.’
A. Sanctification does not mean that our old sinful natures have been removed. When we are made children of God by belief in Christ (John 1:12-13), we are ‘sanctified.’ It simply means we are set apart for God’s service. Justification is being freed from the burden and penalty of sin (Rom.5:1,9). Our faith in Christ makes us ‘right’ in God’s eyes. He declares us “not guilty” in the courts of Heaven! It’s “just as if we’d never sinned.”

THE STONE ON THE TOMB
Why was the stone on the tomb roll’d away?
You must admit, ‘twas an awesome display!
Was the stone moved, so Christ could get out?
‘Tis a subject, most don’t think about!
The stone was roll’d away from the sepulcher,
This had to be, an amazing picture!
Mary Magdalene, was the first to see,
Jesus had risen! the tomb was empty!
The stone was moved, so others could get in!
To see the great vict’ry, Jesus did win!
He was raised from the dead; He was raised!
Praise be to Almighty God! Praise, praise, praise!
The stone was roll’d away, so they could tell,
Christ was alive! all their fears they could quell.
Two angels in white sat where Christ had lain,
“He is not here, He is risen” they did explain!
The disciples were gath’red Sunday evening,
And in their midst stood their Master and King!
The doors were shut, but that didn’t stop the Lord,
The hearts of these men, were indeed stirred.
Calmly He spoke to them: “Peace be unto you,”
He showed them His Hands so they’d know He was true.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,”
We must tell the world, Christ is our salvation!

John 20; Mt.28; Mk.16.
CRUCIFIXION was a common form of punishment among heathens in early times. The forms of capital punishment according to the Mosaic law were: by the sword (Exodus 21), fire (Leviticus 20), and stoning (Deut. 21).
Crucifixion began by scourging (whipping, lashing). But, with our Lord, His scourging began before sentence was passed upon Him. It was inflicted by Pilate probably to excite pity from the Jews and obtain His escape from further punishment (Luke 23:22; John 19:1).
The one condemned carried his own cross to the place of execution, which was outside the city. Before they nailed the condemned one to the cross, a cup of vinegar mixed with gall and myrrh was given, to ease the pains of the sufferer. Our Lord refused this cup, that His senses might be clear (Matthew 27:34). A spongeful of vinegar was put on a hyssop stalk and offered to our Lord in contemptuous pity (Matthew 27:48; Luke 23:36). He tasted to ease the agony of His thirst (John 19:29). The accounts given of the crucifixion of our Lord are in entire agreement with the customs and practices of the Romans in such cases.
He was crucified between two criminals, “malefactors” (Isaiah 53:12; Luke 23:32), and was watched by a party of four soldiers (John 19:23; Matthew 27:36, 54), along with their centurion. The “breaking of the legs” of those crucified was intended to hasten death, and put them out of misery (John 19:31); but the unusual speed of our Lord's death (John 19:33) was due to His previous sufferings and His great mental anguish. The omission of breaking His legs was the fulfilment of prophecy (Exodus 12:46). He literally died of a broken heart, a ruptured heart, and therefore, the flow of blood and water from the wound made by the soldier's spear (John 19:34). Our Lord uttered seven memorable words from the cross:
(1) Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. [KJV]
(2) Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. [KJV]
(3) John 19:26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! [KJV]
(4) Matthew 27:46 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [KJV]
(5) John 19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. [KJV]
(6) John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. [KJV]
(7) Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. [KJV]
There are many who try to blame the Jews for the death of Christ. They were only instruments used of God. It was God the Father, and Christ Himself who were in control. At any time, Jesus could have called “legions of angels” (Mat.26:53) to stop the crucifixion, but He knew we’d be doomed to Hell if He had! God sent His Son, and Jesus came, willingly, for us! There is NO love any where that can beat this! When we accept Jesus and His Work on the cross, we become God’s children and we’re Heaven bound!
Thank You, thank You, thank You, Jesus, for loving us so much!

HE INCLUDED ME
A privilege; that I’m in God’s fam’ly,
Tho’ I’m a sinner, God included me!
Thru’ faith, by grace, God saved my soul,
Washed away my sins, and made me whole!
He included me; Him I do praise,
I’ll thank Him to the end of Earth’s days.
I’m unworthy, yet He reached out in love,
That one day I’ll live Heav’n above!
He included me, ‘fore He made the Earth,
Even tho’ I am of little worth.
He knew one day I’d trust and believe,
And His precious Son, I would receive!
Called by the Father; amazingly,
I am His child; He included me!
In the Book of Life, God wrote my name,
Gladly this privilege, I humbly claim!
Yes! He included me; lowly me,
God gave me the Gift; life eternally!
God sent His Son to take my sins away,
Christ died for me on that sad, lonesome day!
He included me; awesome but true,
God can do the very same for you!
A child of God; with Christ joint heir,
Where forever, we’ll God’s glory share!
His including me, gives joy and peace,
Forgiveness of sins, that burden’s ceas’d!
A mansion is reserv’d in Heav’n above,
All because of God’s remarkable love!

Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: [KJV] When God says He “chose us in him” He is telling us that salvation depends totally on Him. We are not saved because we deserve it, but because God is gracious and freely gives us salvation. We did not influence God’s decision to save us; for He chose us before He even made the universe. We can take NO credit for our salvation. The mystery of salvation was conceived in the timeless mind of God long before we existed. It is hard to understand how a pure and holy God could accept us (sinners). Only because of Christ, are we holy and blameless in His sight. God chose us, and when we belong to Him through Christ Jesus, God looks at us as if we had never sinned (Rom.5:1). All God expects of us is to express our thanks for His wonderful love, through our love and obedience to Him.
In love we are predestinated, or fore-ordained, to be adopted as children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. I truly believe that everyone is ‘called’ by God; but those who accept the ‘invitation’ are few and far between (Mat. 22; Luke 14). God does not want puppets or robots for His children. He wants us to come to Him (through Jesus, John 1:12-13) on our own free will, out of love and obedience. It is a decision each and every person must make on their own. When we do, we become His children and His heirs. Christ is the “heir of all things.” Believers are heirs of the promise, of righteousness, of the kingdom, of God, and joint heirs with Christ. And when we become followers of Jesus, we must tell others about Him. “Go ye therefore.” (Mat.28:19).
Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. [KJV] Abraham was God’s child by faith; faith also makes us God’s child (Eph.2:8-9).
James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? [KJV] Do you love God? and His Son, Jesus? Has God included you into His family?
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. [2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. [KJV] “I am going to prepare a place for you, and I will come back for you.” We can look forward to eternal life with great hope because Jesus has promised it to all who believe in Him. Although the complete facts of eternity are unknown, we have nothing to fear because Jesus is preparing a home for us and He will spend eternity with us. God cannot lie (Titus 1:2), so we know Heaven awaits all God’s children!
1 Peter 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, [KJV] As God’s children, we can look forward to a home in the eternal City of God. God has reserved that home for you. As I tell my classes: “That mansion has your name on it. NO one can take it away from you, ever!” It will never fade or decay. It is holy and untainted by sin, because there will be NO sin whatsoever in Heaven (Rev.21:27). Have you trusted Christ as your Saviour and Lord? Have you allowed God to include you into His family? Don’t wait a moment longer! No one knows what tomorrow will bring. (2 Cor.6:2).

WORDS of WISDOM
For that person God has placed in your path:
You can’t tell of Jesus too soon; because you never know how soon it will be too late.
Because for them:
It’s never too early to receive Christ; but at any moment it could be too late.
None of us know when our time is up.
It’s not an option to tell others about Jesus . . . it’s a command! Don’t disobey God.
Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. [KJV]
Radiance beams from the stars in the heavens. We need to let our lights shine as well.
We must never imprison our lights under a basket. Christians are the “light” of this present day world. Are we shining our lights on the paths of those around us? If not, why not? Are we telling them about Jesus and what He can do for them? What’s our excuse? We can come up with some really bizarre excuses for not speaking up for our Lord, but we won’t have an excuse when we stand before the Great Judge! We should be trying to turn lost souls to “righteousness” and stop our disobedience to our Lord.
John 4:35-B . . . . Lift up your eyes, and look to the fields; for they are white already
to harvest. [KJV]
Jesus says, “Look around you! Don’t you see those lost souls?” Someone this very day may be waiting for you to speak to them. YOU may be the only person they will listen to. Their destiny may be in your hands. Do you want that person to go to Hell? Do you want them to choose Hell just because no one ever told them Jesus can save their soul? No! I’m sure you don’t. You are NOT responsible for their decision after you tell them, but, you ARE responsible to tell them about Jesus.
Matthew 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples,
The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. [KJV]
We (ALL “born again” Christians) are the Lord’s “laborers” in the harvest of souls. As you look out at the fields in the world, what do you see? Lost souls everywhere!!! Evil and wickedness is rampant. The “laborers” are indeed “few” just as our Saviour and Lord stated all those many years ago. IF we claim to be Christians; IF we claim to be His disciples, His followers, we can’t just sit back and relax, because the work will not get done. IF we do sit back and do nothing, we are in direct disobedience to God.
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good,
and doeth it not, to him it is sin. [KJV]
Most people think of sin as doing something wrong. This is quite true. That is sin, the sin of ‘commission’ (doing something). BUT, the sin of ‘omission’ (not doing what you know you should do) is just as bad! All Christians KNOW they should “Go ye therefore.” This is a command from our Lord (Matthew 28:19). When we believe and are sure that He is the Christ, the Son of the living God (John 6:69), the Saviour of the world, we must tell others this incredible news. We must tell them what Jesus can do for them. Please don’t disobey God. Don’t ever be concerned about what people will think of you; instead, be VERY concerned about what God thinks of you! If you are ashamed of Jesus, and do not tell others about Him, He will be ashamed of you when He comes (Mark 8:38). Do you honestly want Jesus to be “ashamed” of you? I surely don’t!

ON THE WINGS OF PRAYER
On the wings of prayer, I can aid,
If my brother hurts, or is afraid.
God will send His comfort and His pow’r,
To help my brother in the right hour.
I can assist with my heart-felt prayer,
God in His wisdom, is always there.
Whether it be someone next to me,
Or miles away; God will not tarry.
An awesome pow’r; here and ev’rywhere,
God’s children have, on the wings of prayer.
Hurts can be soothed, and pain can flee,
And those who mourn, have serenity.
On the wings of prayer we can go,
Directly to God, in joy or sorrow.
He would have you come, sincere and meek,
With heart-felt words as Him you do seek.
Such a wondrous privilege we all share,
We can come to God on wings of prayer.
Our Saviour gave us this victory,
Direct access to God, for you and me!

Words of Wisdom
You can’t stumble if you’re on your knees.
When troubles knock you flat on your back; remember, it leaves you looking up.
The secret to “Be anxious about nothing" is to pray about everything.
With every temptation there is an opportunity to say "NO" to sin, and "YES" to God.
Worry is like a rocking chair; it gives you something to do, but it won't get you antwhere.
Prayer is simply talking to God. It's our very soul communicating with God. We are privileged, because of Christ (Romans 5:1-2), that we can go directly to our Heavenly Father, and talk to Him as if He were sitting next to us! Prayer may be spoken or inward, occasional or constant, blurted out or formal. It is “beseeching the Lord” (Exodus 32:11); “pouring out the soul before the Lord” (1 Samuel 1:15); “praying and crying to heaven” (2 Chron. 32:20); “seeking unto God and making supplication” (Job 8:5); “drawing near to God” (Psalm 73:28); “bowing the knees” (Ephesians 3:14).
Prayer discloses that we believe in the Person of God; and we believe He has the ability and willingness to listen to us and answer us, and also that we believe He has personal control of all things and all His creatures.
To be acceptable, our prayer must be sincere and heart-felt (Hebrews 10:22); it must be offered with reverence and godly fear, and with a humble sense of knowing just how insignificant we really are. We must realize our own unworthiness as sinners, and we must be unhesitating in our submission to His divine will. Prayer must be offered in faith that God is; He hears us, and He will answer our petitions. “Ask, and ye shall receive” (Matthew 7:7-8; 21:22; Mark 11:24; John 14:13-14). We must ask everything in the Name of Christ (John 15:16; 16:23-24; Ephesians 2:18; 5:20; Col. 3:17; 1 Peter 2:5).
There are different kinds of prayer: secret (Matthew 6:6); social, as family prayers and in social worship; and public, in the church. No rules are laid down anywhere in Scripture for the method of prayer. We can kneel (1 Kings 8:54; 2 Chron. 6:13; Psalm 95:6; Isaiah 45:23; Luke 22:41; Acts 7:60; Acts 9:40; Ephesians 3:14, etc.); bow and fall prostrate (Genesis 24:26, 52; Exodus 4:31; 12:27; Matthew 26:39; Mark 14:35, etc.); spread out our hands (1 Kings 8:22, 38, 54; Psalm 28:2; 63:4; 88:9; 1 Tim. 2:8, etc.); or stand (1 Samuel 1:26; 1 Kings 8:14, 55; 2 Chron. 20:9; Mark 11:25; Luke 18:11, 13). Position is not important . . . attitude is!
Daniel prayed, and God enabled him both to tell Nebuchadnezzar his dream and to give the interpretation of it (Daniel 2:16-23). When Esther and Mordecai prayed, God defeated the purpose of Haman, and saved the Jews from destruction (Esther 4:15-17; 6:7-8). Elijah performed a great miracle on Mt. Carmel after a very brief prayer (1 Kings 18:37). The believers in Jerusalem prayed, and God opened the prison doors and set Peter free, when Herod had arranged his death (Acts 12:1-12).
Prayer will not be answered by those who: Ask amiss. James 4:3, Regard iniquity in their heart. Psalm 66:18, Live in sin. Isaiah 59:2; John 9:31, Offer unworthy service to God. Malachi 1: 7-9, Forsake God. Jeremiah 14:10, 12, Reject the call of God. Proverbs 1:24-25, 28, Are idolaters. Jeremiah 11:11-14; Ezekiel 8:15-18, Are wavering. James 1:6-7,
Are hypocrites. Job 27:8-9, Are proud. Job 35:12-13, Are self-righteous. Luke 18:11-12, 14, Are the enemies of saints. Psalm 18:40-41.
Prayer is like the dove that Noah sent out from the ark; it blessed him when it returned with an olive-leaf in its mouth, and also when it didn’t return at all.

AN AWESOME FEELING
Such a fantastic peace floods my soul,
No sadness this hour, will take its toll.
Such a close bond, I feel with my King,
Never have I had, a better blessing!
Closeness, between God and me alone,
Such a great feeling I’ve never known.
Never has joy like this, been in my heart,
I pray this feeling will never depart.
Tremendous joy this closeness provides,
For I feel Your Presence, in me abide!
I truly love, this closeness with You,
I wish it would come, each day anew.
This feeling comes from Your wondrous grace,
Sin’s burden, far away You have chased.
This awesome feeling, makes me glow,
A blessing indeed, this closeness to know!
This inexpressible closeness that I feel,
Seems that my whole heart and soul it heals!
For this awesome closeness, I thank You,
I know it comes from Your love so true.
I know this closeness, infrequently,
But soon I’ll know it, eternally!
My sin that blocks, ‘twill be no more,
For I’ll never sin again, on Heav’n’s shore!

Words of Wisdom
The future King is our present Companion and Friend.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? (KJV)
We acnnot expest an intimate relationship with God, unless we first seek peace with Him. If there is not friendship, there can be NO fellowship. God and mankind CANNOT walk together, except they are agreed. We must agree with God. We CANNOT expect God to agree with us, for we ALL are sinners (Rom.3:10,23) and God is completely pure and righteous and just! So unless we seek His glory, we cannot walk with Him. God plainly tells us in His Word He is against every type of sin. The evil of sin comes from within us (Jeremiah 17:9). We bring it on ourselves. Unless we confess our sins (1 John 1:8-9) and get right with God, we will NEVER feel this awesome closeness to Him. Sin is like a wall between God and us. We must remove that ‘wall’ or we cannot feel close to God. We must have reconciliation with God to feel this amazing closeness.
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him,
and make our abode with him. [KJV]
Ever since Pentecost, the Gospel of the Kingdom has been proclaimed in the whole world, and yet only a "few" are receptive to it. Jesus saves the deepest revelations and the best of Himself for those who love andf obey Him. We need to wwalk closely with Him.
Psalm 42:1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks,
so panteth my soul after thee, O God. [KJV]
A deer must have water to survive, so too, our very existence depends on God. If we seek Him and truly desire to understand Him, we are blessed with a closeness to Him. When you feel separated from God, do as the psalmist; don’t rest until you restore your relationship with God because your very life depends on it.
Psalm 63:56 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: [6] When I remember thee upon my bed, and
meditate on thee in the night watches. [KJV]
If you are lonely or thirsty for something lasting in your life, remember God alone can satisfy our deepest longings! Even in our affliction we should praise God for His Presence and comfort He brings to us. We should highly value the loving-kindness of God more than life. The mercies of God support our soul, turning darkness to light. What joy there is when we trust in the Lord and are satisfied with all the fulness of God. Praise Him with joyful lips, for He will chase night away, and sorrow and sighing shall flee.
Only by living a right life, can we have the awesome and amazing feeling of closeness with Almighty God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I wish I could say that feeling is with me at all times, but it’s not. When I sin, that wall blocks me from God, and until I make it right, that great and wonderful feeling eludes me.

Psalm 139:7-12 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? [8] If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. [9] If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; [10] Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
[11] If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. [12] Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day:
the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. [KJV]
God is omnipresent. He is present everywhere. God’s children can never be lost to His Spirit. No matter what we do or where we go, we are never far from God’s comforting Presence. His Promise to us: “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). We cannot see God, but He can always see us. The psalmist did not want to go away from the Lord’s Presence. He is simply saying that no matter where he went, he would never be out of God’s Presence. Where could we go? Even in the most distant corners of the world, in Heaven, even Hell, we can never be out of His reach or His eyesight. There is no veil can ever hide us from God; not even the thickest darkness, for night and day are the same to God. No disguise can save any person or action from being seen in the true light by Him. Secret sins are as open before God as the most open immoral conduct.
Believers cannot be removed from the supporting, comforting Presence of this Almighty Friend. No outward circumstances can separate us from our Lord. There is nothing that can separate us from His awesome love: NOT death (absent from the body, present with the Lord), NOT life with all its confusion and troubles, not rulers or powers (earthly or demonic), NOT the present, NOT the future, NOT the world above,NOT the world below. There is nothing in all creation that can ever separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39).
1 Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. [KJV]
Unbelievers cannot understand God, and they really cannot comprehend that God ’s Spirit lives in believers. The majority of people do not approve of, or understand your decision to follow Jesus, even those closest to you, as I can well affirm. It all seems just plain stupid to them. Just as a tone-deaf person cannot appreciate fine music, the person who rejects God cannot possibly understand God’s beautiful message. If they won’t open the lines of communication (their heart), they will never be able to hear what God is saying.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered
into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
[10]But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth
all things, yea, the deep things of God. [KJV]
We can’t even begin to imagine all that God has in store for His children, both in this life and through eternity. His Holy Spirit comforts and guides us. Knowing the wonderful and eternal future that awaits us gives us hope and courage to press on in this life, helping us endure hardships that come our way, and helps us avoid giving in to the devil and temptation. This world is not all there is. The best is yet to come.

HE CHANGED ME
If you are willing, God can change you,
Into the real you; someone so true.
Before I knew Christ, my life was all sin,
It was always “me, me,” never Him!
One day, I did listen to my heart,
For that small still voice, wouldn’t depart.
Quite a change took place, in my lifestyle,
Jesus loved me; He was there all the while.
I finally did submit to God,
He was patient, as wrong roads I trod.
I yielded to Him, and tried to obey,
I’m not perfect, but He is my stay.
To my Lord, my life I did commit,
I trust completely, His dear Spirit.
I’m no longer the old sinful me,
For my dear Jesus, did set me free.
I trust my Saviour to make me right,
For my righteousness is dark as night.
Thanks be to Jesus, who paid my debt,
Without Him I’d still be, in Satan’s net.
Jesus took away sin’s penalty,
And God’s wrath, for all eternity.
How do I thank Him, and praise His Name?
He did change me; took away my shame.
Now that I am in God’s family,
I want to love and obey, closely.
I can never do enough to ever repay,
All He has done, the rest of my days.

Psalm 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony
of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. [KJV] When we think of the law, we usually think of something that keeps us from having fun. But here we see that law revives us, makes us wise, gives joy to our heart, light to the eyes, warns us, and rewards us. God’s laws are guidelines and lights for our path, rather than chains on our hands and feet. They point at danger and warn us, then point us in the right direction and guide us.
Psalm 51:12-13 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. [13] Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. [KJV] God wants us to be close to Him, but any sin that you don’t confess makes this intimacy impossible. Confess your sin to God. You may still have to face some earthly consequences, as David did, but God will give back the joy of your relationship with Him.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. [KJV] If a person does NOT change when they accept Jesus into their heart and life, there is great doubt as to whether they are truly saved or not.
Matthew 7:21-24 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
[24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. [KJV] Not everyone who talks about Heaven belongs to God’s Kingdom. Jesus is much more concerned about our walk than our talk. He wants us to do right, not just say the right words. Your house ( your life), will withstand the storms of life only if you do what is right instead of just talking about it. What you do cannot be separated from what you believe.
Jesus will expose people who sound religious but have no personal relationship with Him. On the day of judgment, only our relationship with Christ, our acceptance of Him as Saviour and Lord, and our obedience to Him will matter. Many people think that if they are “good” people and say religious things, they will go to Heaven.’The Bible does NOT teach this. Faith in Christ, and obedience to Him is what will count at the judgment.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; [KJV]
This summarizes what Christ does for us when He saves us. We move from a life full of sin to one where we are led by God’s Holy Spirit. All our sins are washed away by the Blood of Jesus. When we believe, we acknowledge Christ as Lord and recognizes His saving work that He did on the cross. We gain eternal life with all its treasures. We have renewal by the Holy Spirit, and He continually renews our hearts. None of this happens because we earned or deserved it. We are NOT worthy! It is God’s gift to us because we believe Him.
All three persons of the Trinity are mentioned in these verses because all three participate in our salvation. Because of the redemptive work of His Son, the Father forgives us; the Holy Spirit renews us by washing away our sins and then continually abide with us.
We must be changed or we are NOT God’s children!

Words of Wisdom
God’s Presence WITH us, is one of His greatest presents TO us.
WHY should we thank God? WHY should we praise Him? There are endless reasons for those who truly love the Lord!
His LOVE: Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [KJV] John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [KJV] 1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. [KJV]
His WISDOM: Psalm 104:24 O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast
thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. [KJV] Proverbs 3:19 The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. [KJV] Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! [KJV]
ANSWERED PRAYER: Psalm 91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer
him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. [KJV]
Isaiah 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; [KJV] Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. [KJV]
His BLESSINGS: Psalm 65:9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly
enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it. [KJV] Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. [KJV]
His PROMISES: Romans 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had
promised, he was able also to perform. [KJV] 1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. [KJV] Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. [KJV]
VICTORY: John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might
have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. [KJV] 1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. [KJV]
PEACE and JOY: John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. [KJV] Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. [KJV]
HEAVENLY HOME: Luke 10:20-B . . . but rather rejoice, because your names
are written in heaven. [KJV] John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. [KJV]
There are MANY reasons to thank and praise our awesome triune God. These are just the ‘tip of the iceberg’! When you go to God in prayer --- THANK Him! PRAISE Him!

John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would
have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [KJV] Jesus NEVER lies!
1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [4] To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, [5] Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. [KJV] God calls us to a living hope of eternal life. The hope we have is not only for the future. Eternal life begins when we trust Christ and join God’s family (John 5:24). No matter what pain or troubles we face in this life, we know the best is yet to come. Someday we will live with Christ forever. All believers can look forward to an inheritance in the eternal city of God. God has reserved our “mansion” for us; it will never fade or decay; and no one can take it from you
Galatians 4:4-6 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, [5] To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. [6] And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. [KJV]
When the exact time was right, God sent Jesus to Earth to die for our sins. God’s timing was perfect. Sometimes we may wonder if God will ever respond to our prayers. But we must never doubt Him or give up hope. When the time is right, He will respond. Are you waiting for God to answer your prayer? Trust Him, He has your best interests in mind.
Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature. [KJV] This is a very strong statement about the divine nature of Christ. Jesus is not only equal to God (Phil. 2:6), HE IS GOD (John 10:30, 38; John 12:45; John 14:1-11); He is the image of the invisible God, He is the exact picture of God. He not only reflects God, He reveals God to us (John 1:18; John 14:9). He came from Heaven, not from the dust of the Earth (1 Cor. 15:47). He is Lord of all (Romans 9:5; 10:11-13; Rev. 1:5; Rev. 17:14). He is completely holy (Hebrews 7:26-28; 1 Peter 1:19; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 John 3:5).
And He has authority to judge the world (Romans 2:16; 2 Cor. 5:10; 2 Tim. 4:1).
Christ is supreme over ALL creation, including the spirit world. We must believe in the deity of Jesus Christ (that Jesus is God) or our faith is worthless.
2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. [KJV] Jesus became poor by giving up His rights as God and becoming Man. In His incarnation God voluntarily became Man, Jesus of Nazareth. As a Man, Jesus was subject to place, time, and other human limitations. He did not give up His eternal power when He became human, but He did set aside His glory and His rights. Christ became “poor” when He became human, but by doing so, He made us “rich” with salvation and eternal life.
Words of Wisdom
The wall of unbelief stops us from enjoying the open fields of God’s amazing grace!
