Our Hearts and Lives

Living for Christ is not easy to do,
When you walk close to Him, folks watch you!
Ready to jump on you if you slip,
At times you feel like deserting the ship!

With love like our God; we are to love,
‘Tis hard in this world of push and shove.
Repaying good, for evil folks do,
I surely need Him, to see me thru’.

Curse not, but bless; love your enemy,
Only with Christ can we have victory.
Our brother we are to truly forgive,
If we want forgiveness, as we live.

Lord Jesus, we can’t do it alone,
We would fail completely, on our own.
Please Lord Jesus, stay close by our side,
Love and forgive, and be there to guide.

(Jn.15:18; Phil.4:13,19; Mt.10:22; 5:21-22,27-28,31-35,38-39,43;44; 6:14-15)

There was one who had great earthly wealth,
This one also had good physical health.
But he had a problem he could not see,
He wouldn’t admit Jesus held Heav’n’s ‘key’.

There was one so beautiful, and so vain,
She looked at others with great disdain.
She rejected Jesus with contemn,
No Jesus; the world’s biggest problem!

There was a ruler who had vast pow’r,
All his subjects would shudder and cow’r.
From his evil lips came blasphemy,
His problem: No Christ, for eternity!

There was one who had fortune and fame,
People ‘round the world, all knew her name.
She had a problem; she refus’d Jesus,
And this makes the Father furious!

There are those who toil for a college degree,
To be a scholar is great, most agree.
But without Christ, you have a problem great,
Eternal destruction of Hell does await!

We can access Heav’n without wealth or beauty,
But we must have Jesus: He’s the Key!
Heav’n can be ours without learning or fame,
But we must call on Jesus’ Holy Name!

Without Jesus, a problem does exist,
Hell will be yours; for Heav’n you’ll have miss’d!
He is the Truth, the Life and the Way,
Just Jesus can get you to Heav’n someday!

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. [KJV]
Acts 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. [KJV]

I once was a stranger to God and His grace,
And I felt no danger, not even a trace!
I’d often heard, Christ died for me on the Cross,
It seemed not to matter, I didn’t count the cost!

I once was a stranger to righteousness,
Instead I followed after wickedness.
Worldly things I craved; wealth and pleasure,
Never considering spiritual treasure!

I once was a stranger and enemy,
To the Father who controlled, my destiny.
I wouldn’t accept His Word, wouldn’t believe,
And His Beloved Son I wouldn’t receive.

The Light of Jesus, awoke me one day,
‘Twas then I saw; I’d gone the wrong way!
He shed Light on my path, tho’ rugged and steep,
As He patiently guided this lost sheep!

As He said, the road is strait and narrow,
But my Shepherd leads on thru’ dark shadows.
No matter how difficult, He leads on,
Praise be to Jesus, my fears are gone.

He has made me one of the chosen “few,”
Loving and forgiving, making me new!
No longer a stranger to God above,
Christ made me God’s child, and filled me with love.

A true Christian, in Christ believes,
Thru’ Him eternal life, he achieves.
In sheer meekness, Christ he accepts,
Then God pardons; in His Hands we’re kept.

A true Christian will receive life,
And in Heav’n we will be the Lamb’s wife.
For Christ our Saviour, true Christians live,
Meek, in true love; not deceptive.

A true Christian serves Christ the Lord,
They trust and obey His Holy Word.
‘In Christ’ are all Christians, so true,
And He ‘in us’, both me and you.

A true Christian shows love for all,
Red, yellow, black or white; great or small.
God does not show partiality,
We should love all alike, you and me.

A true Christian will for e’er live,
God, thru’ Christ, eternal life gives.
Our Home will be in Heav’n above,
Surrounded by God’s wondrous love.

As you survey your life, what do you see?
Is it constant stress, or serenity?
Consider, does worry always plague you?
Think . . .  are your dishonest, or are you true?

Do you gossip and backbite, or say good things?
To others, are you a curse, or blessing?
Does love in your heart, to others o’er flow?
Do those around you, the true you know?

Do you cheat others, with thoughts just of greed?
And feelings of others, you never do heed.
Coveting, will bring God’s wrath down on you,
Love of money is simply the wrong view.

Do you deceive others with trickery?
Do monstrous lies, flow from your lips so free?
The deep hurt you inflict, could last for years,
Causing your victim stress, to the point of tears.

As you survey your life, what do you see?
Are you on your way to life eternally?
Are you walking on the Lord’s path of light?
Are you living, what God considers right?

If we want God’s heav’nly Home, as our own,
Love to God, and our neighbors, must be shown.
We must have faith, we must trust and obey,
We would surely be wise, to live God’s way!

Many in the past, have felt Your Hand,
And You’ve blessed their efforts, thru’ out the land.
For when You called, they did not turn away,
They willingly loved, trusted and obeyed.

Many invitations, You do send,
It’s so sad that most, You do offend.
But the few who accept are privileg’d indeed,
For Your awesome touch, they did heed.

So very privileg’d and special al I,
For the Lord’s call, I did not deny.
On my own, I’d never be worthy,
But praise God, His Son gives vict’ry.

I’m privileg’d to be one of the few,
For Lord, I believe, and follow You.
You have touched me in a special way,
And Lord, I’ll be grateful, all my days.

One of the favored ones, you can be too,
You can be one of the privileg’d few.
Jesus is knocking at your heart’s door,
Open to Him for blessings, for ever more!

Are you ready, for the coming of the Lord?
Are you really grounded, in His living Word?
He’s able to keep, what you commit to Him,
Not like all the cults, that follow ev’ry whim.

Do you know for certain, that you are saved?
Or, do you follow Satan, and are depraved?
Will you be ready, on that day He does come?
Or will you continue, away from Him to roam?

Are you grounded, in the power of your faith?
Are you ready, for that fateful day of death?
Our time here on Earth, is so very short,
Are you letting Satan, Heav’nly life abort?

Time is uncertain; like vapor in the air,
We’re here a while; then gone: do you know where?
Do you know the ‘place’ where forever you’ll dwell?
Let me ask you this: is it Heaven, or Hell?

Are you ready to meet, the Almighty God?
All will stand before Him, the world abroad.
God has made ‘A’ plan, to save your very soul,
Accept His plan, Jesus; you’re on Heaven’s roll!

Change your destination, if you’re on the wrong path,
Just trust in Jesus, will keep you from God’s wrath.
Believe God; trust Jesus; let Him take control,
And you will be ready, when He comes for your soul.

A wise man will hear, and increase learning,
The need to know God, is a constant yearning.
“But fools despise wisdom and instruction,”
Sad to say, they’re headed for destruction.

“Rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee,”
From the wrong he does, he wants to flee.
“Fools will despise the wisdom of thy words,”
So answer not, lest ye be in accord.

“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise,”
All that he learneth, he shall not despise.
“A companion of fools shall be destroyed,”
Where they’re headed, they won’t be o’er joyed.

“The law of the wise is a fountain of life,”
In the coming life, there shall be no strife.
God says: “The thought of foolishness is sin,”
Just with Christ, does eternal life begin!

He says: “A fool uttereth all his mind,”
One who ‘knows it all’, do you know the kind?
It is the will of God, always has been,
The wise put to silence those foolish men.

God states: “The wise man’s eyes are in his head,”
Night is nothing for them ever to dread.
“But the fool always walketh in darkness,”
He’s simply blind, and the Lord, he won’t confess.

Who are wise? and fools? in the eyes of the Lord?
You can find the answer in His good Word.
Are you wise; one who buildeth on the “Rock”?
Or a fool; who’ll never be in God’s flock?

Thru’ life we go, with its rivers to cross,
Life, with its seas, raging and tempest toss’d.
We can expect hardships, trouble and woe,
But there’s One who walks with us, as we go.

Thru’ this life we will find, roads rough and steep,
With great high mountains, and canyons so deep.
Thru’ this life we may find treacherous trails,
But with Christ as our Guide, we will not fail.

Thru’ this life we will encounter, enemies,
Speaking great lies, and profanities.
Thru’ life, problems come, as we travel on,
Remember help is there, in God’s own Son.

Thru’ this life we will have sorrow and pain,
Ev’n loved ones may look on us with disdain.
Many tragic things could cause fear and strife,
Take it to Jesus, as we walk thru’ this life.

We are not exempt from tribulation,
When we turn to Jesus, for salvation.
We will have wondrous blessings, ‘tis so true,
But life will still bring troubles, to me and you.

The Father will bless us as thru’ life we go,
Grand and awesome blessings, He does bestow.
Love, joy and peace; and His Presence so near,
He comforts as we walk; this He makes so clear.

As thru’ life we go, we should trust Him always,
God will watch His children, all their days.
No matter our trouble, sorrow or woe,
Christ will be with us as thru’ life we go.

You’re at the mercy of an Enemy,
As you travel the road of life, carefree!
You’re living in sin and wickedness,
In a life of tension and great stress.

God is your Enemy; this is true!
For Jesus’ Blood, does not cover you!
You must turn to Christ, this very day,
You must trust and believe, all God says!

You’re at the mercy of an Enemy,
Because of your sin and iniquity.
Trust and accept Christ; don’t reject,
For only He, your soul can protect!

You have an Enemy, in God above,
If you don’t accept, His Gift of love!
If you reject Christ, you reject God too,
You’re at God’s mercy, so plain and true!

Rejecting Christ, makes you God’s enemy,
You’ll never have, eternal victory!
Only Christ Jesus can save your soul,
For God gave Him pow’r, and all control!

You’re at the mercy of God’s awesome grace,
As in this life, you try to keep pace.
Christ brings forgiveness, and makes amends,
Giving peace with God, and making Him Friend!

Do you want God as an Enemy?
He can send you to Hell, eternally!
Accept His mercy, that comes in His Son,
Salvation can only, in Christ, be won!

Romans 5:9-10 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. [10] For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. (KJV)
Philippians 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: (KJV)
Colossians 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled (KJV)
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (KJV)

If you are washed in the Blood of Jesus, you are God's friend. But IF you keep rejecting Christ, God's ONLY Way of salvation . . . you are God's enemy!

The backslider’s heart is full of his own ways,
Thinking of God does not enter his days.
Many of His people backslide from Him,
Sinful, corrupt children; to them God is dim.

Iniquity abounds; their love grows cold,
Do they want to be removed from His fold?
When you’ve heard of Christ, and are known of God,
Why think to go back, to evil you trod?

God states: “Now the just shall live by his faith,
But the soul that goes against God ends in death.”
The soul that draws back, God’s not happy with him,
Consider the facts: it’s either sink, or swim.

Did you accept Christ after hearing the Word?
Then you escape the pollution’s of this world.
The knowledge of our Saviour, you did gain,
Why go back to the world’s pow’r that does wane?

Are you one who draws back into perdition?
‘Twill be a sad day, if you God does shun.
“No man having put his hand to the plough,
And looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.”

I pray you’re not one who turns against God,
But if you are, turn back now; as you trod.
He wants for you to come out of the cold,
Waits patiently, to bring you back to the fold!

Burdens of life are heavy on me,
But Jesus can give me victory.
He may not take my trouble away,
But He will walk with me, all the way.

Burdens of life are a common thing,
But Jesus comfort and strength can bring.
He won’t abandon, He’s always near,
Chasing away all our doubts and fear.

Burdens of life come to every one,
But relief can come thru’ God’s own Son.
No matter your trouble, Christ is there,
There to help you, for He truly cares.

The burdens of life, don’t think them strange,
With Jesus on your side, things can change.
Fiery trails could often come your way,
Trust and obey Jesus, come what may.

Burdens of life may be large or small,
We ne’er know what, on us may befall.
Take your trouble to God, in earnest prayer,
Help will arrive, for He does care.

Burdens of life may be testing you,
God may want to see just what you will do.
Stand firm and loyal in your faith in Him,
Trusting Jesus makes burdens less grim.

We must cast out anger from our life,
For if we don’t, we will have much strife.
Anger leads to bitterness galore,
With ill feelings, and malice, held in store.

We must put away pride as we live,
Pride will make you fall; it’s deceptive!
It makes you think you’re more than you are,
And pushes you from our God, so far.

We must cast jealousy far away,
If not, there’ll be no peace, in your day.
Resentment, and suspicious of others,
And wrongfully envying your brother.

We must not covet; God’s Word does tell,
These feelings of greed, we surely must quell!
Longing and craving for Earthly wealth,
Will greatly damage our spiritual health.

Cast out all hate; instead we should love,
As does our Lord and Saviour above.
We must do these things, as we live,
Or God’s blessings to us, He won’t give.

In this world, most think ‘taking’ makes you rich,
But when you turn to Christ, your heart does switch!
It is then you think ‘giving’ is better,
For Christ removed your sin; your fetter!

Now you’re changed; you want to ‘do’ for God,
You serve Him willingly, He does not prod.
Such a transformation; just Christ can bring,
From a lost sinner, to ‘child of the King’.

Only Christ can change you; in ev’ry way,
From dark sinner, to ‘child of light’ this day.
Trust Him to save you from the pits of Hell,
He will do it, and in Heaven you’ll dwell!

Life is a multitude of choices,
Some bring tears, others make us rejoice.
We make decisions, be they good or bad,
The consequences, make us glad or sad!

There are diff’rent roads, from which we choose,
Results can grant gain; or we can lose.
The paths we choose, mold our very life,
Some bring contentment; some bring great strife!

In this life, we can choose from many roads,
That can lead to light or heavy loads.
But in the realm of eternity,
There are just two roads, for you and me.

We can choose the narrow road, so strait,
That leads to God’s Home; Heaven’s gate.
Those who choose this road, are sparse and few,
The decision is yours; it’s up to you!

The only other road is smooth and wide,
Many are on it, taking long strides.
The consequence is sheer agony,
In a burning Hell, for eternity!

You choose; and accept the consequence,
The torture of Hell; or God’s presence!
Just two destinations; Heav’n, or Hell,
Which place my friend, will you choose to dwell?

Ev’ry living thing, must one day die,
This absolute fact, we can’t deny.
Animal, plant, insect, fish or man,
All living things will die, ‘tis God’s plan.

A number of years to each, God does give,
We know not our days on Earth, as we live.
We know not when God will call our name,
But each and ev’ry one, death shall claim.

As I watch’d my friend, fade slowly away,
She got weaker and weaker, day by day.
But the beauty of her wonderful smile,
Bolstered my spirits all the while.

Never an unkind or bitter word,
From this beautiful person e’er was heard.
She knew she was dying, but didn’t complain,
Instead of comforting her, comfort I would gain.

Instead of me cheering her, she cheered me,
For her faith brought her great serenity.
She always seemed content; had peacefulness;
As she looked to her Lord, He truly did bless.

Death will come; ‘tis a reality,
But where will you spend eternity?
What you’ve done with God’s Son, will decide,
Where in eternity you will abide.

God gave us breath, and one day He’ll take it away,
We all must consider this fateful day.
Dust we were, and to it we shall return,
We’ll go and not come back, this we must learn.

Every one will walk thru’ the gates of death,
For one certain day, we’ll take our last breath.
The shadow of death hangs over us all,
We all will leave when God beckons and calls.

Each of our bodies shall one day fall asleep,
And no earthly possessions shall we keep.
Our spirit shall depart back to the Lord,
He gave it, He’ll take it; so says His Word.

We die just once, not more, as some wrongly say,
We shall not return to die another day.
Let us all realize that we are frail,
And to beg for more days, is to no avail.

Death is not the end, but the beginning,
Our soul lives on, bliss or agony to bring.
Eternity approaches, both you and me,
Does Heav’n await? or Hell’s woe and misery?

Are you headed for the bliss of Heaven’s shore?
Or is eternal destruction what is held in store?
Only Jesus has the key to Heaven’s gate,
Believe on Him this day, before it’s too late.

We all must die one day . . . unless our Lord Jesus comes to get believers at the Rapture. 1 Thes. 4:13-18 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. [14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. [15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. [16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. [18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (KJV)

‘Dedication’ is a word we oft’ hear,
But to most, the meaning is not clear.
Dedication to Christ is a great thing,
Put Him first, no matter what life brings.

Christ must be preeminent alway,
Domination your life, night and day.
You must live out His life, here on Earth,
Making Him proud, as you show His worth.

We are complete, only thru’ our Lord,
In all we do, He must be adored.
We must be filled with His Spirit,
And our lives to Him, we must submit.

As we journey on our road of life,
Christ is the solution, to all strife.
Dedication to Him, is what we need,
Love and serve Him, and do take heed.

The fullness of God, in us will show,
Thru’ dedication, as on we go.
Poured out in life, thru’ those who believe,
Dedication to whom, you did receive.

Our Lord Jesus said: “Come, follow me,”
Unless we do, we’ll not have vict’ry.
God’s children must be disciples too,
We must follow Him that is true.

Our selfish desires we must deny,
If on Christ’s pow’r, we want to rely.
Our cross in life we simply must bear,
If Jesus’ glory, we want to share.

Christ in our life, must be number one,
Or we’re not worthy of God’s own Son.
Above all persons, or any thing,
Christ must be first, to receive God’s blessing.

Care and concern and compassion too,
We must love as Christ, in all we do.
‘Bout His lost sheep, we really must care,
We must try to get them from Satan’s lair.

Christ’s disciples must be brave and bold,
Tell of Christ; get them into His fold.
In this we do not have an option,
We must tell the Good News of salvation.

Are you Jesus’ disciple today?
Do you love for His lost sheep display?
“Go ye therefore,” He commands of you,
Do you love and obey our Lord so true?

Christ died on the cross to set us free,
Just He can give life eternally.
When we follow Jesus, we must work,
Our duties we simply cannot shirk.

Not all who say: “Lord, Lord,” go to Heav’n,
Just those who obey the commands He’s giv’n.
Those mournful words “I never knew you,”
Will not be heard, if to Christ you are true.

All Christ’s disciples must share the task,
If in Heav’n’s comfort they want to bask.
We must for Jesus take a firm stand,
This of us, the Father does demand.

To dishonor Christ, is worse than death,
Let me think of this, as I take each breath.
I pray His Name I’ll never disgrace,
Or His precious Sacrifice, ever debase.

I pray I’ll never disgrace His Name,
And that I never bring Jesus shame.
Let me not be ashamed of my King,
I want not any reproach to bring.

I pray I’ll never my Saviour deny,
That would be worse than if I would die.
Let me not discourage others, I pray,
But make Jesus proud, each and ev’ry day.

To dishonor Christ is an awful sin,
With God the Father, you cannot win.
Let me never use His Name in vain,
I pray I never bring my Saviour shame.

Let me never dishonor my Lord,
I should walk with Him in willing accord.
I pray for wisdom to live in His Light,
Dishonoring Christ, is a fearful plight.

To dishonor Christ, will judgment bring,
For God thinks, it’s a horrible thing.
We should never bring our Saviour shame,
Instead we should honor and praise His Name.

To dishonor Christ Jesus is a terrible thing in God's Eyes!

If you want others not to lie to you,
Then you must speak only words that are true.
Do unto others only right, good things,
Or you cannot expect your life, good bring.

If you want others to be loving and kind,
You cannot to these qualities be blind.
You must show love, and kindness, from deep down,
Or what you receive, may cause you to frown.

If you want others to speak soft, tender words,
Then harsh, evil speech, from you can’t be hurl’d.
Speak unto others, as you’d want them to,
Soft, tender words, they can’t misconstrue.

Do unto others as you’d have them do,
Don’t be abrupt, impatient, or untrue.
A calm, gentle nature, gracious and meek,
Against such there’s no law; this we should seek.

If you want others to help comfort you,
Then you, to them, must be a good friend too.
Quiet and pleasant, with love that abounds,
Do unto others, and friends will be found.

If you want forgiveness, for wrongs you’ve done,
Then you must forgive, if any you’ve shunn’d.
Do unto others, as you’d have them do,
No better advice than this; tried and true.

Do you speak cross words, when you could be nice?
Do you always TAKE, never sacrifice?
Those that you love, do you tell them you care?
Or go thru’ life as if they were not there?

Our life here on Earth is so very brief,
We should try our best, not to cause folks grief.
Do only what you would want done to you,
A good rule to live by; proven and true!

We don’t know when God will call us away,
Neither those we love; time we cannot sway.
Guard the words you say, and the deeds you do,
Or you may regret , in days that ensue.

If we treat a loved one mean and low,
Thru’ hateful words or deeds, causing sorrow.
What if God would call that person away?
Could you bear the guilt, the rest of your days?

We all need to take a look at our life,
Do we bring happiness? or cause much strife?
Do and say to others, only good things,
You’ll reap what you sow, for that’s what life brings.

Have you hurt or injured someone you love?
It’s easy, in this world of push and shove.
Apologize! make their hurt go away,
Friend, YOU’LL be blessed, as you go your way.

Do you renounce hidden things of shame?
That you may bring glory to His Name?
Do you have a sense of immense pride?
Pride goes before a fall; cast it aside!

Are you dishonest; have crafty ways?
Would you cheat some one on any day?
All these things, you must renounce my friend,
O so clear, is the Message God sends!

Do strife and envy and jealousy,
Have a place in your heart? O they must flee!
Malice and bitterness; they too must go,
Renounce them, if Christ you will follow!

Deep in your heart, do you nurse a grudge?
Do you others’ actions, critically judge?
To your brothers a bad attitude show,
Forsake them my friend, they just bring sorrow!

Secret things of shame, we hold deep down,
All unseen to others, cause God to frown!
We must renounce all these shameful things,
If we truly want, God’s priceless blessings!

2 Corinthians 4:2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. [KJV] We must put aside all secret and shameful deeds; we must not act with deceit, we must not falsify the Word of God. We must live in the full light of Truth; we must live as if God is watching uas every minute . . . because He is!

Friend, did you ever have any thoughts about Hell?
This place of torture, where so many shall dwell?
Many do not believe, there is such a place,
But it does exist, way deep down in space!

The New Testament often of it does speak,
Over two hundred times, and none very weak!
God keeps on warning us, o’er and o’er again,
Wants us to avoid all the distress and pain.

If you were traveling one of Earth’s highways,
And you saw that many warning along the way,
What would you do, plunge on directly ahead?
Or, turn around, and find a good road instead?

God has put up many warning signs ahead,
He’s trying to point you, away from Hell’s dread!
But if you insist, and follow the wrong road,
God has only one choice: “Hell as your abode.”

“Am I trying to scare you?” this you might ask,
I certainly hope so, for this is my task.
Jesus taught more on Hell, than any other thing,
So what I do say, I have hopes it will sting.

If you have not thought about Hell, please do it now!
Heaven should be your goal, and I’ll teach you how!
God made just one Plan, to save our souls from Hell,
Believe, trust Jesus, and in Heaven you shall dwell!

Most people never really consider an eternal HELL!

Do you gripe and complain, when things go awry?
Did you consider instead, to look to the sky?
Our help cometh from our Creator, the Lord,
Turn unto Him, and your prayer will be heard.

Do you ever find yourself down in the dumps?
Do others around you think you are a grump?
Our help cometh in the Name of the Lord,
Just call on Him, and things won’t be so hard.

Do you feel sorry for yourself, time and again?
He’s always cared for you, from way back when.
God hasn’t promised us an easy path to go,
But He will be with us; a blessing to know!

Do you tell God what you think He should do?
Do you think He’s not smart enough to construe?
He knows better that you ever can or will,
Why don’t you turn to Him, and learn to be still?

We should never question His Almighty will,
Let Him have His way; He will fill the bill!
“He hath done whatsoever He hath pleased,”
All His children He does love, and tries to appease.

His Book states: “Ye shall not tempt the Lord thy God,”
We are not to murmur, says His Holy Word.
So we should not bellyache, gripe or complain.
It could be so much worse, then think of the strain!

All things work together for good, if you love God,
It’s not good that we God tempt, and always prod.
He will only give His very best to you,
Times of stress makes us strong, He is always true.

It never comes to mind what is probable.
Doubt insists on a mountain, to move a mustard seed,
Those who doubt, never even half believed!

He who doubts what he sees; will never believe,
They can’t see God, so salvation’s not achieved!
Seems the more a person knows, the more they doubt,
Doubt is your enemy; take another route!

Beware of doubts; they are traitors to us all,
Faith keeps doubt in its place, lest we would fall!
Faith leads us on, but doubt digs the grave of faith,

Doubt is just one way, old Satan will tempt,
Not one single saint, from doubt is exempt.
Doubt starts out so small, so we must beware,
Or soon we'll be caught up, in Satan's snare.

In a flower patch, doubt is like a weed,
Stifling out the beauty, if we don't pay heed.
We must rip it out, as fast as we can,
On the sin of doubt, we must put a ban.

Doubt is like a flea, on a dog's back,
Ready at any moment, to attack.
Not one little chance, should it be given,
For doubt and unbelief, keep you from Heaven.

Satan will tempt you continuously,
And doubt he uses, frequently.
We must beware, and always be on guard,
For old Satan, is a deceiving fraud.

Submit to God, and the devil will flee,
Only the Lord from doubt, can set you free,
Trust Him, believe in Him, walk the right road,
You'll be relieved from doubt, the devil's goad.

Doubt, disbelief, distrust, uncertain, skeptical, Rebuked by Christ: (Mat.6:30; 8:26; 14:31; 16:8; 17:17; Mk.4:40; 9:19; Lk.8:25; 24:25; Jn.20:27; Jam.1:6). James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (KJV)

Doubts, are simply traitors to our soul,
“I can’t” is born of doubt, that took control!
But faith is a ‘flame,’ deep down inside,
We should always seek, for faith to abide!

Doubts are really betrayers to our heart,
Doubt in our life, should not be a part!
All our excuses, of doubt are born,
Faith instead, God’s children should adorn!

Doubts are truly a negative power,
Cramping and crippling, hour after hour!
Satan wants us to doubt God, alway,
Don’t give in, and become the devil’s prey!

Doubts, will absolutely make you fail,
Your common sense, will be to no avail!
Unbelief makes you God’s enemy,
God wants us to believe; you and me!

Doubts will keep you, from eternal success,
For the ‘Ladder’ to Heav’n, you can’t access!
Christ is this ‘Ladder;’ you must believe!
Throw away your doubt, and Him receive!

Doubt is a sin, that will lead you to Hell,
And there for eternity, you shall dwell!
Open your heart’s door, to Jesus today!
Total faith in Christ, is the only way!

We don’t know what lies ahead, downstream,
Maybe a nightmare, or beautiful dream.
We can’t see ahead, around the bend,
An enemy might await, or a friend.

Downstream could be rapids, raging wild,
Or calm, still waters, ever so mild.
We never know what may come in life,
It could be peace and joy, or maybe strife.

In life we know not, what lies ahead,
One day happiness, the next one dread.
Life is like a river, always flowing,
What’s downstream, we have no way of knowing.

Living life God’s way, gives peace and rest,
Ev’n tho’ at times, we’ll be put to the test.
All our troubles may not disappear,
But His loving Presence, is always near.

Wonder of wonders, He’s always there,
Because our Saviour truly does care.
Downstream we cannot know what will be,
God knows, but to us, it’s a mystery.

Trust the Lord Jesus with your v’ry all,
And He’ll reach out His Hand, when you fall.
We need not worry, ‘bout what’s downstream,
For Jesus will aid us, when Him we esteem.

Enemies of God

To the cross of Christ, many are enemies,
As they speed head-first into eternity.
“I’m a Christian” many of them profess,
But in their heart, Christ they do not possess.

For His enemies, God shall reserve His wrath,
Ev’ry one of those, on that big, broad path,
To be a “Christian,” you must trust and obey,
You must turn from your sin, and go the right way.

The Lord’s enemies, take His Name in vain,
With vile blasphemy, ever so profane.
They talk His talk, but refuse to walk His walk,
They give in to temptation, as Satan stalks.

From the cross of Christ, many turn away,
Apostasy is rampant, this very day.
Pretending to be Christ’s, is hypocrisy,
Judgment shall be yours, like the Pharisees.

Do you say with your mouth: “Christ belongs to me,”
Are you at all concerned, ‘bout eternity?
When you talk the talk, you must walk on His path,
Or on Judgment Day, you shall feel God’s wrath.

You must repent of your sin, and it forsake,
Or the gates of Heaven, you’ll never make.
To continue in your sin, you shall see Hell,
And there for eternity, you will dwell.

There are cruel people in the world,
Wickedness and evil, by them are hurl’d.
Children of the devil, ‘tis so clear,
Our God and His Son, they do not fear!

Sadistic creatures, they love to hate,
Everlasting destruction, is their fate!
The devil does tempt them, O so well,
Without Jesus, they are bound for Hell!

Satan can depress, and lead astray,
Tempting with drugs and booze, ev’ry day.
He makes them think they are never wrong,
Without Jesus, they’re bound for Hell’s throng!

Satan makes folks think they have great pow’r,
And they are wise, so they do not cow’r.
Wicked, immoral things that they do,
Seem so inhuman to me and you.

Without Jesus, we could be in their shoes,
And the devil’s heart we would amuse.
We should praise God for His amazing grace,
For we could so easy, be in their place!

We must reach out to the lost ones and tell,
That only Jesus can save them from Hell.
We must tell them of Jesus’ great love,
And just He can take them to Heav’n above.

We as God's children are commanded to tell outhers of Jesus. Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (KJV)
IF we are ashamed of Jesus . . . He will be ashamed of us! Mark 8:38Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. (KJV)

Each person must face reality,
Just where will you, spend eternity?
This life God gives, is where we decide,
Where in eternity, we’ll abide.

A free will is something, God does give,
When He created us, this life to live.
A blessing or curse, it can be for you,
It depends on how, God’s Word you view.

God made you, that with Him you could abide,
But you must trust Him, and let Him guide.
What you must do, He clearly tells,
Disobedience, will lead you to Hell.

God shows us two roads; you must decide,
Heaven or Hell, where will you abide?
The broad road goes to Hell, the small one Heav’n,
The choice to you, God has freely giv’n.

When you accept Christ, God smiles on you,
And you’re on that small road, chosen by few.
Rejecting God’s Son, you call Him a “Liar,”
You’re choosing the broad road that leads to Hell’s fire.

So many decisions, there are in life,
And all wrong choices lead to great strife.
The most important decision for you,
Believe God? Yes or no? What will you do?

Acts 4:12; 1 John 5:10-12.

Faith and obedience are tied in one,
Faith is the start, where it has all begun.
Obedience is close, ne’er out of sight,
We must trust AND obey, to win the fight!

Those without faith will never see Heaven,
Only with faith, is eternal life giv’n.
But once you trust Jesus to save your soul,
You must OBEY Him, or you are not whole.

If we trust Him, we obey; out of love,
We want to work and serve, our God above.
Faith without works is dead, being alone,
By our works, faith is proven; faith is shown!

It is NOT enough to trust God . . . we must also OBEY God! That wonderful old hymn: "Trust and Obey" for there's NO other way . . . this is right on track!!

Faith is: believing, confidence, assurance, reliance, TRUST. The opposite of faith is unbelief, doubt, distrust. Faith simply persuades or convinces our mind that something is true. The primary idea of faith is trust. If we can be sure a thing is true, we then know it is worthy of our trust. We can be assured of faith, because of the evidence on which it rests. Faith is the result of teaching (Rom.10:14-17). Agreeing to the Truth is the basis of faith, and our agreement to any revealed Truth rests on the truthfulness of God. Saving faith is so called because it has eternal life connected with it. It could be defined as faith in Christ Jesus where we receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation. This is how He is offered to us in the Gospel. Saving faith is revealed to us in the awesome Word of God. Faith accepts and believes that the Bible is the absolute Truth.

I’m far from perfect Lord, this I know,
I do struggle, as You I follow.
I want to do right, but wrong I choose,
Tempted am I, and I get confused.

Instead of choosing good, I choose wrong,
My flesh is weak, I wish I were strong.
I’m far from perfect Lord, You I need,
It seems to Satan, I always pay heed.

It’s two steps forward, and one step back,
I can’t seem to keep, my mind on track.
You dear Lord, I want to imitate,
But falling far short, seems to be my fate.

Good things I want to do, I don’t do,
I can’t seem, to concentrate on You.
Temptations abound, where e’er I go,
I want to do right, but don’t do so.

To be perfect as You, this I seek,
But I fall short, for I am weak.
Help me Lord, You I don’t want to shame,
Help me to bring glory, to Your Name.

Lord, perfection is so far from me,
I so look forward, to eternity,
For then I’ll have a body, just like You,
And it will be perfect and sinless too.

Fools despise wisdom and instruction,
Their end will be eternal destruction.
Do you wish to find knowledge of God?
You must ‘fear the Lord’, the world abroad.

“Fear of the Lord, is to hate evil,”
Be righteous and just and do His will.
Pride, a froward mouth, and arrogancy,
These all will turn away God’s mercy!

The ‘fear of the Lord’ begins wisdom,
With awe, reverence; to Him we must come!
‘Fear of the Lord’ is humility,
For our pride makes us His enemy.

The Lord God is far from the wicked,
From all their prayer, He’s simply fled.
Even their thoughts are hated by Him,
But words of His children are ne’er dim!

Fools make a mock at sin, the world around,
But the righteous make a pleasant sound.
A fool’s lips are a snare for his soul,
A good man ‘fears’, for God’s in control!

Fleeting and Vain Things

Now here, then gone, like dew on the grass,
Like earthly treasure, all will one day pass.
Like fog in the night, all gone by noon,
Consider vain things, all gone soon.

As clouds in the heavens, disappear,
We should ponder, our death might be near.
Like a wondrous rainbow, after a rain,
The beauty of it, is such a short gain.

As an icicle, on a frigid night,
With the sun’s heat, will drip out of sight.
As steam from a teapot, dissipates,
Think of eternity, ‘fore it’s too late.

As a vapor, our life is so brief,
Does the thought of Heav’n, give you relief?
Or do you tremble, at the thought of Hell?
The place where Christ says, many shall dwell.

So many things are here now, then gone,
In life we must not be, Satan’s pawn.
We should not lust after worldly things,
If we desire God’s awesome blessings.

So many things in life, bring NO gain,
So many things, are useless and vain.
Worldly riches, and lust for pleasure,
Will never be your heav’n’ly treasure.

As you live life, think of what’s been said,
Many things in life, can bring lasting dread.
Many things are now here, then go away,
Build your life on things, that are here to stay.

A fool works evil, time and again,
Doing profane acts, much to their chagrin.
But a wise man, just right things he seeks,
Thus his integrity, he does keep.

It seems that pride, is all that fools know,
Greed and envy, from these people flow.
But a wise man, reveals humility,
He’s content with life, and what is to be.

Fools walk dark paths, seeking wickedness,
They strive only, for worldly success.
But a wise man, walks in paths of light,
Storing treasures in Heav’n, in God’s sight.

A fool will reject Jesus as Lord,
Choosing instead, what Satan has in store.
But a wise man, opens their heart’s door wide,
Gladly inviting, Jesus inside!

Fools steadily swarm, to Hell’s broad path,
They persist to summon, God’s holy wrath.
But a wise man, stays on that narrow road,
That will one day lead, to Heaven’s abode.

A fool will suffer, for eternity,
For they refused God’s salvation, so free.
But a wise man, will walk that street of gold,
And eternally, peace and bliss behold.

All were once fools, ‘til they were born again”,
‘Til Christ Jesus made them, God’s children.
If you don’t know Christ, turn to Him today,
You will be a wise man, on Heav’n’s way.

Eternal life; what does it entail?
‘Tis endless life, that will never fail.
But friend, it means so much more than this,
It’s life in Heaven; it’s total bliss.

A promise fulfilled, it does mean,
No man, nor Satan, can come between.
‘Tis ours, the moment we do believe,
Trusting Christ to save, and Him receive.

Christ promised life, abundantly,
We can claim this promise, victoriously.
A full meaningful life, in His will,
Spirit controlled, with hope to instill.

This ‘life’ is yours, when you do believe,
It starts on Earth, ‘till Heav’n we receive.
Only thru’ Christ, can you have this ‘life’,
Without Christ, sin and evil are rife.

Life in Heav’n is coming, soon I know,
No tears, pain nor suffering, no woe.
Only the joy of serving our Lord,
Loving Him always; that won’t be hard.

I praise my dear Saviour, ev’ry day,
Eternal life is mine, for alway!
The joy and peace He puts in my heart,
And the hope of Heav’n, will ne’er depart.

Eternal Life

The start of eternal life, is common faith,
We must believe this, with our every breath.
Grace, mercy and peace, comes thru’ our dear Lord,
All clearly revealed, in His Holy Word.

Eternal life has just One, Fountainhead,
‘Tho’ false doctrines by many cults, are spread.
Just Jesus is the Truth, Life and only Way,
That you will ever get, to Heaven one day.

Eternal life is a Gift, ever so free,
A Promise to “
whosoever” . . . you and me!
To get into Heaven, it’s our faith, God’s grace,
It’s there in His Home, we’ll see His wondrous face.

Eternal Life means, in Christ we are hid,
Believing and trusting, is what God does bid.
Eternal life is surely, security,
Given by our gracious God, ever so free.

Eternal life is a hope, ever so grand,
God promised a mansion, in Heaven Land.
A wonderful mansion, reserved for me,
In the Promised Land, of eternity.

Eternal life means, we must walk in the light,
Following Christ, not letting Him out of sight.
Trusting Him always, let Him lead, let Him guide,
For just Jesus, eternal live can provide!

Gambling With Your Soul

People gamble with their soul, every day,
They do their own thing, and go their own way.
They bristle up, if you mention the Lord,
And they don’t want to hear, God’s Holy Word!

You must not ever gamble, with your soul,
For when Judgment day comes, God’s in control!
When this life’s o’er, and it’s Heaven you desire,
To not obey God, brings you the Lake of Fire.

When gambling with your soul, the devil grins,
For the broad road you’re on, Hell’s gate you’ll win.
Gambling with your soul, is a tragedy,
You do NOT want, eternal agony!

Evil Satan will do, his utmost best,
Urging you to gamble, he gives no rest.
But gambling your soul, is a huge mistake,
You could find yourself, in Hell’s fiery lake!

Gambling with your soul, is when you won’t believe,
Rejection of Christ, nor His Work receive.
‘Tis turning your back, on God’s Holy Word,
And despising God’s Son. Jesus, our Lord!

Are you gambling, with your soul this v’ry day?
May I suggest, you go another way.
That broad road leads, where you want NOT to go,
Heaven should be your goal, NOT Hell below!

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name
under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV)

God’s Word is a treasure; each Promise a pearl,
The more that you study, the more He unfurls.
A spiritual gold mine, for one and for all,
Rich and poor alike, the big and the small.

I am an heir with all those who fear Thy Name,
This is so much better than earthly fame.
Thy testimonies always rejoice my heart,
A wonderful way, each new day to start.

God’s Holy Word, is a Treasure to me,
For it has led me to life eternally!
It turned me from darkness to glorious light,
All my horrid sins are now gone from His sight.

Of the heav’nly inheritance, I will partake,
For Christ Jesus, my Saviour; I did make.
Jesus is there, my “mansion” to prepare,
Reserved in my name, for He truly cares.

My treasures are where no one can steal,
But the world considers them to have no appeal.
I count all to be lost, except Christ my Lord,
My utmost Treasure, whom I found in God’s word.

What is your greatest treasure this day?
If it’s a worldly thing; it’s not here to stay!
If it’s God’s Word, and His precious Son,
Eternal blessings for you have just begun!

You’ve heard the saying: “Go with the flow’”
But you must compromise; this I know!
You’ll adjust your morals, to fit in,
And when you do friend, to God, that’s sin!

“Go with the flow” you say; times have changed,
Don’t submit, or from God you’re estrang’d.
Our wondrous God always stays the same,
Not like us, changing from game to game.

“Ev’ry body’s doing it” you say,
But friend, it’s wrong, if it’s not God’s way!
To go with the flow is just not right,
With God, you’ll get in an awful tight.

“Go with the flow”, that’s the devil’s road,
And you’ll follow him, to his abode.
That road is so easy, and so broad,,
But friend, it leads, away from God!

Take a firm stand for Jesus today,
Don’t let ANYONE lead you astray.
Don’t “Go with the flow”; walk the strait road,
And Christ will lead you, to HIS abode!

Those in the grip of the devil’s hand,
Are not headed for God’s Glory Land.
And one future day they’ll moan and yell,
But ‘twill be too late, for they’re in Hell!

Memories they’ll have, and things they’ll say,
Won’t do any good, for God won’t sway!
“I could have, I should have taken heed,
Instead a Godless life I did lead.”

“I could have listened when I heard,
Yet I simply went on my own accord.”
Folks do their own thing, go their own way,
And it’s so sad; they’re the devil’s prey.

“I should have turned to Christ the Lord,
When a loved one brought me His Word.”
They’ll think back with bitter memories,
At all their lost opportunities!

“I could have, I should have gone God’s road,
For now, I would be in His Abode.”
These folks will realize when it’s too late,
Only Christ has the ‘key’ to Heaven’s gate!

“I should have humbly fallen to my knees,
Instead I’ll have eternal misery.
I’ll be tormented with eternal flame,
For I rejected Christ’s Holy Name.”

When things go well, I forget You’re even there,
Lord Jesus I forget, You’re a Friend who really cares!
But when life is topsey-turvey, and goes askew,
Then I remember, I should have faith in You!

I seem to forget You, on bright, cheery days,
Lord Jesus I forget, Your friendship guides my ways!
But when the day is dark, and dreary to the end,
It’s then I remember, You are a loyal Friend!

When my health is good, I forget about You,
Lord Jesus I forget, how much You really do!
But when I’m sick, and my body’s wracked with pain,
Then I remember, Your comfort is such great gain!

You, I forget, when many friends surround me,
Lord Jesus I forget, just You give serenity!
But when my friends leave, and I’m alone and blue,
Then I remember, You are a Friend so true!

I forget at times, this life on Earth will pass,
Lord I forget, we’re as the flow’r of the grass!
I must remember, only You have Heav’n’s key,
And only You dear Lord, give life eternally!

I have overcome, by Jesus’ Blood,
That flow’d from the Cross, that precious Flood.
Praise be to my Saviour, true and pure,
Of eternal life, I am assured!

All believers overcome by faith,
Victory thru’ Jesus; no second death!
All who overcome, rewards receive,
Giv’n by God, because Him we believe.

Of the “tree of life” one day we’ll eat,
No one will hunger, ‘twill be so sweet.
From a pure river of water of life,
No one will thirst, no one will have strife.

Overcomers will have robes of righteousness,
Just thru’ Christ do we have this success.
We must have these ‘robes’ to enter Heav’n,
Only thru’ Christ are these garments giv’n.

All those who overcome, Heav’n awaits,
Just Jesus has the key to Heav’n’s gate.
Only Jesus can get you inside,
Where for eternity you’ll abide.

On the strait and narrow path, I must stay,
And my precious Lord, I must obey.
I must have close fellowship with Him,
Or my chance of Heav’n, is very dim.

I must consider, how others feel,
I must serve Jesus, with love and zeal.
Faith in my Saviour, must persevere,
If I am to feel, His Presence near.

I’ll stray from the narrow path, I know,
But with wisdom from Christ, back I’ll go!
Satan will tempt me, day after day,
I must trust Christ Jesus, all the way.

I must stay on that strait, narrow path,
If I am to avoid, the Father’s wrath.
I must stay away, from the broad road,
That leads to Satan’s fiery abode.

Most of the world, to the broad road flock,
But to them, the gates of Heav’n are lock’d.
The lone gate of Hell, will let them in,
For the God of wrath, condemns their sin.

Unbelief is a terrible thing,
Satan blinds the eyes, to God’s blessings.
Making folks think, the broad road is right,
Blindness keeps them off, the path of light.

Help me Lord, to stay on the narrow road,
That leads me to my eternal Home.
I must stay close to You, I must obey
I know dear Jesus, there’s no other way.

Father, I tend to minimize your majesty,
For I cannot comprehend Your purity.
Nor can I imagine Your wondrous compassion,
How You make me Your child and give me salvation.

Bringing You to my level, it seems I try to do,
Lord, let me remember, the awesomeness of You.
No one can compare, with the God of eternity,
Lord God, I want to be Your friend, not Your enemy.

Heavenly Father, I don’t fear You as I should,
I must reverence Your Presence, this must be understood.
Dear Lord I’m too casual, with how I feel about You,
Lord teach me to have more respect each day anew.

Most gracious Heavenly Father, I must love You more,
With ALL my heart, mind, soul and strength; You I must adore.
Lord, I fall short and Your commands I do not obey,
Help me Lord to love You, more and more each day.

From all my sin, my heart is heavy,
Dear Lord, forgive my iniquity.
Repentance is something I must feel,
And Lord, I know, it must be real!

Jesus said I must mourn of my sin,
Turn to the Lord, rend your heart, within.
If we harden our heart, we can’t please God,
We must fear the Lord, where e’er we trod.

Our sin we must not try to justify,
Sin is wicked, sin God does despise.
We must admit we’re wrong, and God is right,
We must repent, with a heart, contrite.

I need nourishment from Christ, the Vine,
What a joy to know, that it is mine!
Without food from Him, I’d surely die,
This fact, I won’t ever deny!

I must receive comfort from my Lord,
From the abundance He has stored.
Lack of His comfort brings great sorrow,
But His awesome comfort makes me glow!

O how I need His encouragement,
And His nearness is all sufficient.
When I’m down, He revitalizes me,
For He is present, continually!

I truly need His almighty pow’r,
And He’s there for me, at any hour!
With His great strength, I can do all things,
I’m so thankful, for all His blessings!

Of His superb love, I’m so in need,
And it is abounding, I need not plead.
So warm inside, His love makes me feel,
This marvelous love, He does reveal!

I truly need His amazing grace,
‘Tis always there; any time, any place!
Because of His grace, He forgives me,
And that same grace brings life, eternally!

Christ does promise to fill all my needs,
And He promises my prayers to heed.
So awesome and amazing is my Lord,
Always blessing with spiritual rewards.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.  (KJV)
Your heart’s door has only one doorknob and it is on the inside! YOU must open your heart’s door or you leave Him out in the cold! He will NOT force Himself on you! OPEN the door my friend! Great and wonderful things will take place in your life.

When the goodness of Jesus, comes into your heart,
The bad and evil things, quickly start to depart!
Christ Jesus came in, when I opened my heart’s door,
He releases grand blessings, that He holds in store!

Awesome blessings come your way, when He resides,
Great Godly gifts are yours, when Jesus presides.
He will help you cast out, all immoral things,
For He gives vic’try, o’er all that Satan brings.

When you allow Christ Jesus, into your heart,
Backbiting, blasphemy, cursing, will depart!
Just kind, loving and tender words, you will speak,
And your attitude, will be humble and meek!

When Jesus comes into your heart, bad things flee,
Envy, greed, hatred, strife, will be far from thee!
Love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, will take place,
For the Spirit of Christ, helps us run our race!

When the goodness of Jesus, comes into your heart,
He gives the newly made you, a brand new start!
The amazing peace and comfort, He gives you,
With each new wonderful day, will continue!

Christ Jesus cannot come, into your life and heart,
Open your heart’s door, that His blessings may start.
Exceptional good things, He brings continually,
And when we depart this Earth, life eternally!

Lessons From Life

What have I learned, in my life on Earth?
My wisdom and strength, are of no worth.
I must be humble, I must be meek,
If the Lord’s guidance, I truly seek.

I must ne’er think, “I’ll do it on my own,”
If I e’er want, God’s will to be shown.
I must have faith, and trust Him each day,
And I must love Him, and Him obey.

The Lord many troubles, will permit,
But He’ll always help, by His Spirit.
His Promise “I will not leave or forsake,”
But a commitment to Him, first we must make.

Tho’ temptation and trials, oft are great,
Vast comfort from Him, won’t e’er be late.
His loving Presence, is e’er so near,
We must have faith, not worry or fear.

At times His will, we can’t comprehend,
But if we love and obey, He’s our Friend.
Lessons from life can sometimes be hard,
But from His Throne of grace, we’re ne’er barr’d.

If we are God’s child, and love Him true,
He will always be there, for me and you.
We must be humble, we must be meek,
If the Lord’s guidance, we truly seek.

Such a great comfort, to know He’s there,
So encouraging, to Know He cares.
No matter our trouble, no matter our pain,
Christ’s love, strength, wisdom and help, we can gain.

There is life beyond the grave; indeed,
So the Gospel of Christ we must heed.
Trust Jesus as your Saviour today,
Only with Him will you go the right way!

For certain, there’s life beyond the grave,
List’ to the Gospel; be bold and brave.
To access God, you must go thru’ His Son,
Or the gates of Heaven can’t be won!

Beyond the grave, there’s eternity,
All souls are eternal; both you and me.
There’s two destinations, where we could go,
To blissful Heaven, OR Hell below!

As we on this Earth, our lives do live,
A free will; our gracious God does give.
He will not force us, to go His way,
He gives us freedom, to decide each day!

Accept OR reject Jesus, God’s Son,
This decision is an eternal one.
Only Christ, your soul from Hell can save,
For friend, there IS life, beyond the grave!

As we live for Christ, many forces we face,
To survive but a moment, we need God’s grace!
Life is a struggle, and desperate indeed,
To the counseling of God, we must heed!

Filth is rampant, in movies and T.V.,
Social upheaval o’erflows, you must agree!
The “real world” is a superficial facade,
God clearly states it is destin’d to fade.

Satan tries all Truth, to twist and distort,
On God’s wisdom and pow’r, we must resort!
Our eyes and minds Satan strives to deceive,
We must be on guard, that we don’t believe!

Life is a struggle; a constant warfare,
But Jesus our burden, will gladly share!
When worries and troubles greatly annoy,
Wisdom and pow’r from Christ, we must employ!

The armor of God is a precious aid,
When we wear it, we need not be afraid!
When the “day of evil” comes, we’ll stand our ground,
Because wisdom and pow’r in Christ is found!

Truth, righteousness, and the Gospel of peace,
When we put on Christ, these blessings increase!
Salvation is your helmet, God’s Word your sword,
Hold steady your shield, which is faith in the Lord!

Without ceasing, God’s children should always pray,
To change our darkness to bright shining day!
Resist the devil; Christ will make him flee,
Life’s struggles will give way to victory!

Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 Thes.5:16-23; Jam.4:7
Christ is our Armor: Truth (Jn.14:6) Righteousness (Ro.10:4; 1 Cor.1:30)
Peace (Jn.14:27. 16:33; Phil.4:7) Faith (Ro.5:1) Salvation (Jn. 3:15-18, 1 Jn. 5:11-12) Sword of the Spirit (Heb.4:12; Jn.15:3; 17:17; 10:30) Prayer (Jn.16:24)
We must “put on Christ” each day we live.

For a bountiful garden, we must strive,
Much care is needed to keep plants alive.
So too, with our lives, we truly must work,
We must never, our obligations shirk.

The garden spot, we must cultivate,
Loosening up the soil, to aerate.
So too, with our heart, we must dig deep,
To remove hate’s hardness, but all love keep.

A garden must have sunshine and rain,
Or it won’t produce, and give us gain.
Life has happiness, but also sorrow,
This is the way that our soul does grow.

In the garden, all weeds we must discard,
If we don’t, good plants they will retard.
Too, with life, take care what we allow in,
We must weed out, ev’ry little sin.

In the garden of life, plant just good seed,
Then turn to God for nourishment we need.
Let God tend our garden ev’ry day,
That we are productive for always.

Life is Like a River of No Return

Life is like, a river of no return,
At times we are at peace, sometimes we yearn.
About our tomorrows, we never know,
We must trust the Lord, blessings to bestow.

On this river, we know not what will be,
As we travel on, to eternity.
A steep, rough mountain, may hinder our way,
A deep, jagged gorge, might appear the next day.

On this river, rough rapids may persist,
So we must never, Christ’s Spirit resist.
We are always under, God’s watchful eye,
On His amazing grace, we must rely.

We never know, what lurks in the shadow,
The devil plays some tricks, we need to know.
Constant temptations, he brings into play,
He ne’er ceases his evil, night or day.

There’s no return, on the river of life,
Which is at times, filled with troubles and strife.
We must live each day, with God on our side,
Knowing His Spirit within does abide.

It is appointed to man, just once to die,
That’s why on the Spirit, we must rely.
Life is like a river, of no return,
We must choose, Heav’n’s bliss, or in Hell to burn.

God gives us this life on Earth, to decide,
Where in eternity, we will reside.
We need to be wise, we need to choose right,
The darkness of Hell, or Heav’n’s glorious light.

Life on Earth

Your life on Earth, one day shall end,
Do you have Christ Jesus, as your Friend?
Or do you with the devil’s crowd play?
You must choose your path, as you go your way.

Some will tell you, that God chooses you,
And that there is nothing, you can do.
My dear friend, that is the devil’s lie,
You CAN choose Jesus, and on Him rely.

You must choose, to walk in Jesus’ light,
Stay away from Satan’s road, dark as night.
You DO have a choice, you can decide,
Where in eternity, you will reside.

Do you have a sin, you won’t forsake?
I’m here to tell you, that’s a big mistake.
Does old Satan, have his hook in you?
You can be one, of God’s faithful few.

There are just two roads, to eternity,
We must choose the right one, you and me.
The narrow road leads, to Heav’n above,
The broad road goes to Hell, far from God’s love.

You CAN be one, of God’s chosen few,
Open your heart’s door, and Christ shall rescue.
You CAN one day, live with Christ on high,
Choose Him this day, and on Him rely.

Life’s Testing

When things around you, all go awry,
Direct your pray’r, far above the sky.
When things are far beyond your control,
Great peace can o’er flow, your distress’d soul.

Things around you, won’t always go your way,
Worldly things, are under Satan’s sway.
Tremendous joy, can be yours in life,
Christ Jesus can help you, relieve your strife.

When things around you, seem to be a test,
Talking to Jesus, is always the best.
He can help you ease your troubled mind,
Comfort and peace, you are sure to find.

When things around you, greatly baffle you,
And all goes astray, no matter what you do.
Talking to a Friend, always brings relief,
His Presence will always, lessen your grief.

When things around you, seem so severe,
And sharp, stinging pain is for e’er near.
In the Lord Jesus’ Name, direct your pray’r,
Blessed hope will arrive, for He does care.

Take it to Jesus, He loves you so,
Talking to Him, will always ease sorrow.
You don’t need to go thru’ troubles alone,
Jesus made it so, we could go to God’s Throne.

Someone who cares when you’re feeling low,
Their phone call or visit makes you glow.
The love they show makes dark times seem bright,
Their caring presence, makes all seem right.

Little things, like a cheery hello,
A hug or smile are blessings bestow’d.
An offer to help in your distress,
Their calm gentleness, relieves your stress.

A shoulder to cry on, when tears arrive,
Calming assurance when you strive.
Someone to help share your heartfelt joy,
And their love for you, no one can destroy.

A kind friendly word spoken in love,
Seems to come direct, from God above.
Niceties in life, show others we care,
Compassion and love, we should always share.

Our life is like a turbulent sea,
As Satan tries to control our destiny!
Only Christ can give comfort and peace,
Just Jesus gives joy that will never cease!

Life’s like a storm with vast angry waves,
Just Christ can keep us; just He can save!
Life’s troubles at times engulf us, it seems,
We must turn away from Satan’s schemes!

Our life is like a violent wind,
Only Christ that fury can rescind!
Satan tries to guide us on the wrong path,
He tries desperately to raise God’s wrath.

Life can be like someone ready to drown,
But when we grasp for Christ, Satan frowns!
We can trust Jesus to throw us a rope,
When trials of life take away our hope!

A Life Saver; a Rope to hold on to,
Christ is always there to see us thru’!
He’s always there, to the very end,
Not anywhere, is there a better Friend!

This wondrous Friend; do you truly know Him?
Life without Him can be bitter and dim!
He’s our Life Saver, now and always,
For without our Lord, we are Satan’s prey!

As you sail down the river of life,
You pass many dangers, toils and strife.
Where have you moor’d your vessel this day?
Have you tied to Christ? or dock’d far away?

Do you not know, your vessel is weak?
Do you not know, ‘tis Christ you should seek?
When life’s angry waves envelope you,
Grab hold of Christ, He will see you thru’!

If you moor to something, that is not strong,
You will break away, before too long.
When you tie to Christ, you are secure,
And thru’ storms of life, you will endure!

When sailing is smooth, and things go right,
Most don’t think of His wisdom and might.
But when a great storm of life explodes,
You’ll wish He were there, for that episode!

Why consider ev’n one day alone?
When Christ’s glorious Presence, you can own.
When you tie to Christ, you moor safe and sound,
Ev’n when those great storms of life abound!

You’ll ne’er be alone, when to Christ you tie,
Don’t go somewhere else, and pass Him by!
He patiently waits, throw Him your rope,
On this river of life, He’s your only hope!

Safety From Satan

Safety from Satan, is what I pray,
For my feet want to go, the wrong way.
Dear Lord, keep me on the narrow path,
Far, far away, from the Father’s wrath.

Safety, from the devil’s temptations,
For I look, to eternal salvation.
Dear Lord, right decisions, let me make,
Let me never, Your great love forsake.

Safety, from old Satan’s tricks and snares,
I must keep watch, and always be aware.
Dear Lord, keep me from his deceitfulness,
Let me stay close to You, that You may bless.

Safety, from the old devils’ vile hate,
Of this evil, I want not to partake.
Dear Lord, let me love instead, I pray,
And let me praise and thank You, ev’ry day.

Safety, from Satan’s desperate lies,
False doctrine is that, on which he relies.
Dear Lord, let me not fall, for heresy,
Let me tell the Truth, of life eternally.

Safety, from Satan’s mighty shrewd ways,
He wants you, from God’s Book, to stay away.
Firmly each day, let me search Your Word,
That I may gain wisdom, from You Lord.

Safety from Satan, this I do plead,
But this I know, to You I must heed.
Closer to You, let me grow each day,
And may Satan stay, far, far away.

Safety from evil Satan, was won,
By the lovinkindness, of God’s own Son.
As He struggled up the hill, of Calvary,
Satan was beaten! Christ got victory!

Can wealth make you happy, as you live?
Can it buy friends? or good health give?
Can it bring happiness to your life?
Can servants or pleasure keep you from strife?

Can education make you happy?
Learning worldly things, can’t give ecstasy.
Tho’ much knowledge you have acquired,
Happiness seems to be your greatest desire.

Can liquor bring you satisfaction?
In the end, it will bring degradation.
Drugs of NO kind can bring happiness,
Only your problems it does suppress.

Can lust and sex fill the void in your heart?
Will that emptiness, from you depart?
Can it give happiness and peace?
Will the unhappiness you feel, cease?

Only Christ can give TRUE happiness,
Life without Him, is just weariness.
Disappointment will flee with Christ there,
For He, your troubles, with you will share.

Sweet peace overflows when Christ abides,
He’s always there, to comfort and guide,
To seek happiness without Him is vain,
Only He can give peace that remains.

The presence of Christ is pleasure and joy,
Happiness that NO one can destroy.
Give your heart to our Saviour today,
Trust and accept Him; there’s NO other way!

With our mere eyes, God can’t be seen,
Not ‘til in Heav’n we all convene.
With our v’ry hearts God we must see,
Or Hell will be our destiny.

Only our heart can reveal God,
‘Tis this way, the whole world abroad.
But once we see Him with our heart,
Our very lives we do restart.

Once we see with our heart, so deep,
‘Tis amazing, what blessings we reap!
We can then see Him all around,
Where e’er we look; He can be found.

He’s in the Earth, the sky, the sea,
In a tiny bird in a tree.
In the beauty of a flower,
In the refreshing, spring shower.

We can now see God every where,
But before, ‘twas all bleak and bare.
Can you, our God, with your heart, see?
He’ll do for you, what He did for me.

Hard and heavy beats the torrential rain,
Great ocean waves roll in, then out again.
The thunder clashes, all around me,
Dark gloomy clouds are all I can see.

So mournful, the wind sounds in the trees,
The birds flutter in the tossing leaves.
Clouds roll wildly, in a patchwork sky,
God is in control; we can’t deny.

With each storm that comes to each of us,
God’s assistance is there --- so precious!
He walks with us in each roaring storm,
Calming our fears; keeping us from harm!

Tho’ thunder may clash, and dark clouds roll,
Our amazing God is in control!
Knowing His Presence is e’er so near,
You and I need not have any fear!

Many storms of life will come and go,
We will be plagued by grief and sorrow.
But after each storm, the sun will shine,
What comfort and grace, thru’ Christ divine!

Christ Jesus has helped me hitherto,
And He’ll be with me, my journey thru’.
His love is there, with wisdom and pow’r,
And He’ll not forsake, at any hour!

Is your name written in God’s ‘Book of Life’?
Just those that are there, shall have no more strife.
These will go to Heav’n, in a mansion, so high,
Those not listed, go to Hell, for e’er to cry.

That ‘Book’ in God’s Home; is your name there?
If not, you’ll not set foot, on Heav’n’s stair!
You can’t get to Heaven, on your own,
For all are sinners, Christ’s Blood must atone.

The Blood of Jesus, so precious and dear,
It can cover all your sin; list’ and hear!
Trust and accept Jesus, you’ll be Heav’n bound,
Your name in the ‘Book of Life’ shall then be found!

On His children, be they live or asleep.
Only the righteous have their names there,
All who reject Christ, won’t ever fare!

Just those who fear God, and Him revere,
Their names in the “Book of Life” will appear!
If your name in this Book, can’t be found,
You’re condemned, you will be Hell bound!

Receive the second death, the “Lake of Fire.”

Some folk slave for riches of this Earth,
Then with pride, show off all they’re worth.
They have pow’r and wealth; but are not happy,
For all the best things in life are free!

Contentment can’t be bought; nor can love,
Peace and joy; these come just from above!
And nearly all strive for happiness,
But instead, many have great sadness.

Can money buy a true loving spouse?
Or a happy home; not a lonely house?
Can your money buy excellent health?
The best things in life, don’t come from wealth!

A true friend will stand by you always,
Won’t leave nor forsake, on your worst days.
The true love Christ shows, is always free,
With grace and mercy, for you and me!

There is a saying, and I agree,
“All the best things in this life are free.”
The wondrous blessings our God does give,
Makes this world a better place as we live.

When troubles abound, and things go wrong,
You need not be weak, you can be strong.
You can receive strength, strength to go on,
It comes in the form, of God’s own Son!

When troubles plague you, and faith seems to cease,

Sometimes troubles come from all directions,
That’s when we should recall, God’s perfection!
He’ll never give us more that we can bear,
He’ll bless with comfort, because He cares.

We all will have troubles, that come our way,
But to His children, great love God displays.
Sufficient grace He gives, abundantly,
With Christ on our side, we’ll have victory.

Tho’ the Lord our troubles, won’t take away,
He will walk with us thru’ them, all the way.
He will encourage us, if we walk with Him,
Things will look brighter, as troubles grow dim.

Did you e’er think, Christ may be testing you?
Run from Him? or to Him? what will you do?
Satan will all your weaknesses explore,
Don’t let the devil get his foot in the door.

No matter what happens, Christ will be there,
He truly does love us, truly does care.
His awesome Presence, is always so near,
He’ll not leave or forsake us, have no fear.

Did you thank Him today, for standing by you?
Do you appreciate His love so true?
What does He mean to you? tell Him this day,
Thank Him for all blessings He brings your way.

Troubles and Woe

Life at times, will bring you trouble and woe,
These the Lord does allow, to help us grow.
But we must never, murmur and complain,
My friend, you do not want, God’s wrath to gain.

The troubles that come, can be good for you,
They can bring you closer, to the Lord too.
But don’t ever turn, your back on the Lord,
His wrath may come down on you, like a sword.

Trust the Lord completely, come what may,
Ev’n tho’ it may be, a dark, dreary day.
He will never leave you, never forsake,
His Promises are there, for you to take.

Troubles and woe will come, to ev’ry one,
Oft’ coming, at the rising of the sun.
You need not walk, thru’ your problems alone,
The Lord will walk with you, as right roads are shown.

From birth to death, the Lord watches His own,
He’s there to help you, as right roads are shown.
Godliness with contentment, is great gain,
If we are wise, in His Hands we’ll remain.

Over and over, troubles arise,
The secret to this, is look to the skies.
Our help cometh each time from the Lord,
There is great comfort, from His Holy Word.

Satan is all smiles, when you worry,
Submit to God, and the devil will flee.
Temptations come, the Lord does permit,
But strength to endure, comes from His Spirit.

As an angel of light, Satan appears,
But the Holy Spirit is always near.
Over and over, He comes to our aid,
His Presence abides, so don’t be afraid.

Much greater is He who is in you,
Than the world’s devil, so untrue.
When we trust the Spirit, and don’t quench His pow’r,
He’ll help in a heart-beat, at any hour.

With each temptation, trouble and woe,
Great comfort and strength, o’er comes our sorrow.
Fellowship with Christ must be secure,
If troubles in life, we are to endure.

When into your life, doubt starts to creep,
Be sure that Jesus, will safely keep.
Doubt will always eat your faith away,
Don’t give in to Satan, on any day.

Between you and Christ, Satan tries to step in,
Gently he will urge you, into sin.
Take hold of His Hand, as Christ you follow,
He truly will help you, in your sorrow.

When Troubles Come

When troubles come, and you’ve done all you can,
Turn it over to Jesus, the Son of man.
When you simply cannot do any more,
Jesus is near, your faith to restore.

When you feel like screaming, because of pain,
Great comfort from Jesus, you can attain.
When you think to yourself, I’ve done all I can do,
Jesus is near you, and He can help you!

When great sorrow comes, and won’t depart,
Jesus can help, He has a loving heart.
He knows what’s happening, He sees you grieve,
Jesus is near you, sorrow to relieve.

He will not take all your problems away,
But He certainly can, brighten your day.
In all your troubles, with you He will walk,
Go to Him in pray’r, and to Him talk.

Jesus sees all your pain and agony,
My friend, He can help give you victory.
Jesus is near, His Presence you can feel,
And the comfort He gives you, is very real.

Jesus can help you, why struggle alone?
His Presence to you, He wants to make known.
Trust Him always, He won’t e’er let you down,
Wearing a smile is better than a frown.
